  Re: Warhammer IIIA

(...) Thanks Marco. I just try to keep it fun. But yeah, you're right. I really don't try to make it look like anything. I prefer to keep it origional and keep the cannon folks at bay. (...) Those are used for cores in the spiral staircases, like (...) (19 years ago, 6-May-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Warhammer IIIA

(...) Thank you, that means a lot. (...) yah, I have an interest in how Lego makes mecha. I think it's important because it shows us fans what kinds of restraints are on the designers. It's got to suck for them, I shudder to think what this mech (...) (19 years ago, 6-May-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Warhammer IIIA

(...) Absolutely stunning! I love the detail on this mech. The use of the red curved slope bricks is spot on. You've really turned building these types of mechs into an artform. On a slightly related topic, I would love to see your take on the Star (...) (19 years ago, 6-May-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Warhammer IIIA

(...) Hey Mark, you blow me away every time. That thing is so cool. I can see the relation to Warhammer, but it's original at the same time. What are the pieces you used for the gun barrels? I never saw them before... Just keep it up man, your doing (...) (19 years ago, 6-May-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Building Tips (was Re: Kogeru (leg framework))

(...) Hello Dave, yes I know the </build/mecha/resources (URL) section. I browsed it now and then. But when I was really new to mecha building (more then a year ago) the links didn't help me that good. I'd like to have some kind of pictured (...) (19 years ago, 6-May-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Warhammer IIIA

(...) I agree with all of the above. It certainly looks like a sure footed mech. Those feet look very stable, which you'd need for a mech that's as wide as this. Great job! Jeff (19 years ago, 6-May-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Warhammer IIIA

(...) Oh man that is one sweet mech. I really like the look and feel of it. I can't wait until its modded, I want to see some more shots. Take care, David (19 years ago, 6-May-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Warhammer IIIA

(URL) I had a good time with the Kogeru construction that I went ahead and did it again, but this time with a more Mechwarrior feel. In fact, I had the image of the good old Warhammer in mind. I figured this was a good homage to that mech. Should be (...) (19 years ago, 6-May-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.announce.moc, FTX) !!

Re: Entry - MPC - Brian Cooper - Large Mecha

(...) Thanks. I built two frames during development and reskinned the second one several times. I wanted to see if I could get a retro look. This one looks eager to fight Getter Robo G, hatchet to hatchet. All the giant robots from the 70s anime (...) (19 years ago, 6-May-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Entry - MPC - Brian Cooper - Large Mecha

(...) The legs on this mecha, as well as the head, remind me of the "Mazinger Z" and "Getter Robo" style robots; Actually, The head and the axe remind me of Garada K7 (URL) Are you using the same teknomeka frame for each of these creations, or do (...)   Re: New MOC: L-Siren

This is my first comment on a mech. It looks cool. I love the head and body. Depending on the asteroid density, a rapid-fire gun may be a better fit for an in-and-out fighting style. Unless, the charge-n-fire gun is supposed to blow up the asteroid (...) (19 years ago, 5-May-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: MOC: Minifig-scale Tachikoma

(...) Aw, he's cute. And... he's a pet. And he carries a puppy. This tank appears to make friends, not war. Thanks for the underside shot too. That's great insight to the construction. -- Tony Hafner www.hafhead.com (19 years ago, 5-May-05, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: New MOC: L-Siren

(...) Soren, this is the most inspiring thing I have seen in a long time. I completely loved the ANIME look of it and the weapons. That gun reminds me so much of "Zone of the Ender". I have been trying to come up with something like it in a smaller (...) (19 years ago, 5-May-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  MOC: Minifig-scale Tachikoma

Since Lenny was kind enough to highlight the little bugger, I guess I should at least post a bit about it: (URL) Click me!>> It's taken me two months of waiting for parts to arrive via Bricklink, but it's finally done - a minifig scale Tachikoma (...)   Re: SWATBot

(...) I didn't even think of posting there. I picture mecha as bigger things with people inside, but wow- thanks for the sidebar! (19 years ago, 4-May-05, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: first public mecha

(...) Hey thanks for the feedback. I was hoping to get some more, though I know it has been kind of busy around here in .mecha. I never realized it but you are right it does look similar to space police I. I am glad you liked it. My only complaint (...) (19 years ago, 4-May-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Entry - MPC - Brian Cooper - Large Mecha

(URL) "Hatchet Boomerang!" It looks like the Pandemonium Empire has resurfaced and they've learned from their past defeats. And all those spikes collect Omicron rays. You know what that means... This is the most stressed pose I've done with the (...) (19 years ago, 4-May-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX) !

  Re: Spider Tank

(...) I like 'em! They've got a lot of strength for the size, and the technic holes in the side make snot-ting easier. I just wish they had three axes of rotation, I wouldn't have thought that would be hard to accomplish. (...) They could maybe (...) (19 years ago, 4-May-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: SWATBot

(...) Oh my goodness! Look at the way you used those parts! WOW! Highlighted! e (19 years ago, 4-May-05, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: SWATBot

(...) OMG, I'll say. That's cool Tony. Crossposted to .mecha. (I'll update the sidebar too.) That's pretty hip, I'm mostly impressed by the fact you got two levers that'll hold the bot up. More impressed that the levers hold all the weight. Cool. (...) (19 years ago, 4-May-05, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Marvin the Paranoid Android

(...) Either way, space is more fun! I really like it Lenny, but all the black should be switched with dark gray. Then exchange the light gray with white that you'll buy from stores. Then write a comic about his adventures. ~Kevoh (19 years ago, 3-May-05, to lugnet.build, lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Marvin the Paranoid Android

Hey Lenny, I suspect you missed the joke and that, like Mark's post downthread, Steve was mimicking Marvin's version of high praise. That said, you can't imagine how many "but Orthanc doesn't really look like that, because Peter Jackson says so" (...) (19 years ago, 3-May-05, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Marvin the Paranoid Android

Hey wow, that is so cool. I really like the way you built that! The proportions are good and I think the entire Bot looks great. Thanks for sharring! e (19 years ago, 3-May-05, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Spider Tank

Doooood! Duuuuude, dewww...wwwd. Oh dang sorry for the late reply. Hang on, here it comes: I REALLY LIKE THIS QUAD! Come on! The feet, the canopy, the stocky leg joints, the color, the shooty things, the rear mounted optional missle racks! DANG. I (...) (19 years ago, 3-May-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Marvin the Paranoid Android

(...) Wow, I must admit that my first thought was "that's a pretty sweet 'bot that kind of reminds me of Marvin" but to say he looks absolutely nothing like him is stretching things a bit. (...) Ah, but here's where you're wrong, Mr. Poopy-pants. (...) (19 years ago, 3-May-05, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Marvin the Paranoid Android

(...) Well thanks, I guess. He does have Marvin's giant spherical head. And his droopy eyes. I guess that doesn't really count in the "absolutely nothing like him." Maybe I should have added that I didn't have the parts to do him in white (he's not (...) (19 years ago, 3-May-05, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Marvin the Paranoid Android

(...) It looks absolutely nothing like him, he's not even silver, or fat. It's no worse than any other mech I've seen lately though. Steve (19 years ago, 3-May-05, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Marvin the Paranoid Android

(...) Hahaha!! Thanks for the thoughtful note.. now that I reflect on it, the MOC does lend itself towards certain melancholy thoughts. -Lenny (19 years ago, 3-May-05, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Marvin the Paranoid Android

(...) (in slightly depressed tone) It's ok, I suppose. I sure that you were tired and overworked when making this rather small figurine. I feel sorry for you. I'd get more excited about it but, just can't quite work up the effort. :) Mark N (19 years ago, 3-May-05, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Marvin the Paranoid Android

(...) Thanks Jason! My lighting is really cheap. Both lamps are $10 or less, and the bulbs are normal sorts of bulbs (less than $5). Tripod isn't anymore than $15, and white paper that size should be easy to get in the $5 range. Less than the (...) (19 years ago, 3-May-05, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Marvin the Paranoid Android

  Re: Marvin the Paranoid Android

(...) While I like it (and had to go and investigate the Lowell Sphere which is a rather neat construct), I was a little disappointed it was the new Marvin. Still that leaves room for others to try the old one... Danny (19 years ago, 3-May-05, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha)

  Marvin the Paranoid Android

(URL) Also, I took a photo of the set up I did for the pictures of Marvin. Relatively simple, I think. (URL) Hosted on Flickr> -Lenny (19 years ago, 3-May-05, to lugnet.space, lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX) !!

  Re: Titan XP Red

(...) LOL! I thought about it, but didn't want to change Lego's 'brilliant' hand design. -Dave (19 years ago, 3-May-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Spider Tank

(...) Yep, 100% dark bley. I actually think it might go better with black than classic dark gray does, but that's about it. Which is good, because I'm using more black lately, what with all my classic light gray tied up in my dropship (I'm just not (...) (19 years ago, 3-May-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)
