  Re: Steambots

(...) Sometimes I think you build stuff just so you'll have an excuse to create those crazy captions and commentaries. Well played. Do they ever shoot blasts of steam as an attack? (20 years ago, 19-Oct-04, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Steambots

You don't know my mother. Thanks for explaining steam as a power source. My favorite steambot is the short legged one. And I like steamrice. JP. (20 years ago, 19-Oct-04, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Steambots

(URL) Steambots aren't powered with fancy-dancy unobtainium power-fusion or uber-posh magic crystals. No. Steambots are powered by STEAM, yeah, thats right, steam as in evaporated water for all you science geeks out there. And when they run out of (...)   Re: The Wanderer: a Clankbot

(...) a very creative mech, lenny. even without reading your post, i knew it had a "western" theme going. nice choice of colors and shapes; they definately give it a gunslinger look. all it needs is a long coat a-la william munny from "unforgiven".   Re: The Wanderer: a Clankbot

Lenny, I actually like the Wanderer better with the weaponry, even though the pics weren't as good. Maybe it's because the shotgun and pistols show off the arm/hand posability a little better. They also add some detail to an otherwise somewhat plain (...) (20 years ago, 17-Oct-04, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: My newest Mecha: The Judge

Frank, I was looking through your Brickshelf Gallery again, and I gotta say that the (URL) "Jugde"> really is one of my favs, of yours. (URL) It really is interesting and the construction is off the hook! e (20 years ago, 14-Oct-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Spiderbot...

(...) Hi Dave, I don't think they're from any official sets. I got them from a Red Letter Days event at Legoland Windsor some time ago. The parts were in a selection of sweepings from the model shop floor. Pete (20 years ago, 13-Oct-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

(...) Ooooo, cool! Where did you pick up those nifty pieces in dark grey? Hinge Bar 2 with 3 Fingers and Top Stud (2433): (URL) Minifig Signal Holder (3900): (URL) I see a couple of 'em on BrickLink I guess... were these released in an actual set? (...)   The Wanderer: a Clankbot

(URL) Some nice pics in the front - older crappy pics in the back. His arms used to have an extra degree of rotational motion, but the heavy forearms had difficulty being supported, so I went with better looking shorter upperarms with better (...)   Re: "Spartan" medium assault mecha

(...) Thanks, Eric. The joints do somewhat allow for larger, more stable mecha creations. However, TLG could expand on the new joint systems potential by designing 3 or 4 more elements- such as a 4x4 plate with a click-pin on the bottom for a torso (...)   Re: Spiderbot...

It does not really look like a spide to me...definetly some kind of hellish mechanized insect thought. Great MOC, I'd love to see it consuming a minifig to give it some scale. I think my favorite detail is the cranium/face...its very expressive for (...) (20 years ago, 11-Oct-04, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Spiderbot...

(...) Lot's of iddy biddy pieces form the spider bot. I like it. The front and looks very cool, as does the legs and greebs. Welcome to the Mecha Builders List! e (20 years ago, 11-Oct-04, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Waswillbe - The RG Mech 2.0

(...) Hi Fradel, werd. The Record and Play unit is found in the heart of this set: [LEGOSet 4095] I purchased the set at the North West Brick Con in 2003. I gave the green parts to Brick Frenzy as a gift and kept the R&P component. The unit can (...) (20 years ago, 11-Oct-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Waswillbe - The RG Mech 2.0

(...) Thanks Andrew, it was nice having you over during construction. Thank you for the sorting help. I'm swamped. (...) Ha ha ha, I call it the RG Mech. That is the name of its soul. (...) thanks brokie. e (20 years ago, 11-Oct-04, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: "Spartan" medium assault mecha

I like the size Mecha these joints lend themselves too. Your "experiments" are fun to see and have a recognizble style. Nice work. I really like the colors. e (20 years ago, 11-Oct-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space)

Re: Orbital Boost Frame and I'm back!

Jeff, another fine job. Once again, I enjoy seeing the form you come up with. I look past the connections to the core of the design. I like it. e (20 years ago, 11-Oct-04, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Waswillbe - The RG Mech 2.0

Hi Eric. What exactly is a record and play unit? The name sounds like a camera but i guess its some kind of motor? BTW, if cherubs had a demon counterpart, this would be it. F (20 years ago, 11-Oct-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Waswillbe - The RG Mech 2.0

(...) E, I have to agree with what has been said here. The overall form and once again attention to minute details is astounding. It was a sheer pleasure to see this thing evolve during its construction (merci monsieur ;-). I know I told you how I (...) (20 years ago, 10-Oct-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Spiderbot...

(...) Yeah, it shouldn't be there. I only spotted it after I took the photos...the pain of the bley thing just isn't going to go away, is it? (...) I'll see what I can do. My camera is pretty rubbish though. (...) Feel free, Andrew, I'd be (...) (20 years ago, 10-Oct-04, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Spiderbot...

(...) Pete - I dig this lil' bugger (bad pun intended ;-)! I am drawn to the leg construction and the overall spindly design. I like your choice of parts for the head...quite innovative use of "fangs". I also think the color scheme is great...but I (...) (20 years ago, 10-Oct-04, to lugnet.build.mecha)
