Here's my second entry in the Blacktron contest, the Mobile Message Decoder.
I'm entering it in category IV: Large Ground Vehicles.

I just finished rechecking the parts count on the Mobile Message Decoder,
and it weighs in at 303 pieces if it includes 2 figs as shown.  That's
barely over the max of 300, but I can drop one minifig to bring it down to
298 if we are going to be strict about it.

Scrutinizer?  Can we get a call on this?

Also, I'm officially submitting my previous entry in Category II: Small
Ground Vehicles.  I'll try to work on something truly wacky over the weekend.

I've also got a page that tracks my entries for this contest.  If my host
dies before I find a replacement, I'll make sure that all contest-related
content lives on this page and Brickshelf.

(...) I like the message title you used, it got my attention. :-) I have no problem with a 1% variance on the piece count. It is no different than if you counted the extra pieces LEGO manages to throw in the box. In this case, you used those pieces. (...) (23 years ago, 18-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.contests)
