Bram, your models always amaze me.  This is very nice.  Just
like TLC themselves do, you have invented a certain technique
(say, for car doors) and use it across different models.

Thanks, Tomas!  I found a door hinge that works pretty well, and looks
reasonably clean while still being applicable in numerous situations, so
I use it :)  The only problem is that most of my hinges are the kind
with the hollow studs.  I like the clean look of solid studs or tiles,
but I don't really like hollow studs or inverted plates.

One thing I found distracting about this model was the
inverted gray piece that suggests the car door frame.  I
don't mind the black inverted pieces, but the gray one really
jumps out at me and says, "I'm upside down."

I agree.  However, because of the way the hinges are attached to the,
they have to be studs in.  When the part was black, there was just too
much black on the model.  It'd be quite difficult to find a thinner
piece...and a tile would look cleaner, but there'd be no way to attach
it.  I'd attach it sideways if I could, but I don't know how without
adding a lot of unwanted bulk.  Perhaps I could attach it to the roof
instead of the door, but then I'd have to rework the door so it still
closed.
