Your storylines are well done, too, and it is always fun to
read the backstories for the ships. And having names that are grounded in
history is a great touch.
There are a couple of things I didn’t like about
the site, though. The drag and drop feature for images in the galleries is
really painful. It takes two to three clicks to see an image, and without
any navigation feedback it is hard to tell if you are waiting for an image or
if you misclicked on something. Also, the gallery for the Zheng he has so
many images in a single vertical line that the page expands to well over the
height of most screens. In itself, that’s fine- but since the text is
vertically centered in the same space and you haven’t specified image sizes
for the pics, it moves as each image comes in, scrolling partly off the
bottom of the screen (and I run at pretty high resolution). People tend to
read the text while they wait for images to come in, and this makes that
particularly difficult.

Thanx for the praise on the ships and you’re spot on with the remarks about the
site. When I finish the job I’m doing right now (I am LUGNETting in office
time!) I should really do something about the lousy scripting.
