1) Call the contest closed, without winners.

2) Wait for such time as all contest entries reappear on brickshelf • ::yawn::

3) Give Kevin L. the Fickle Finger of Fate, load everything onto free • sites
like http://www.ozbricks.com/ (and there is a VERY strong preference that
only sites without banner ads or popups be used), reorganize the Official
contest webpage and now finished ballots to reflect these changes, vote, • and
declare winners.

First, I think we should give it a week or so of just waiting - who knows,
maybe "days" really does mean only a few days.

After that, I'd say go with choice 3.  Whittle down the web page and the
ballots (I can help with either of these) to the bare minimums, but keep a
copy of the original web page handy.  Maybe even leave it up but point
people to the interim web page.  The ballots shouldn't need links on them.
All they really need is category and name of model (and instructions and the
comitee email adresses).

Much of the work would have to be done by the entrants.  Anyone who used
brickshelf would have to get a new account, transfer their pics, and update
the contest comitee on their new address.  Geocities and the likes are a
pain, but it would only be temporary.  I wouldn't mind the occasional ad if
it's just for the contest.  But then, I use Webwasher (which I highly
recommend to anyone who ever uses the internet for anything), so I never see
them anyway.  ;)

Many of us didn't use brickshelf, so there's no problem there, and many
others have both a personal webpage and a brickshelf account, so they can
just refer us to there personal page.

I will have (and currently have) a lot of free time, so I volunteer to help
out, if I can.  I have some web space I could lend to the contest untill
judging is over.

So, if, after a week, brickshelf is still down, would the people who were
using only brickshelf for their webpage be willing to get new web pages?

Well, a strange thing happened on the way to wrapping this contest up... Many contestants have their entries loaded onto the Brickshelf Gallery for viewing purposes. Apparently, and without prior warning (as far as I can see), the Brickshelf Gallery (...) (22 years ago, 26-Jun-02, to lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.space)
