Hello All,
After much fanfare and a weeks long events of the grand opening of the new
Seattle Central Library a few members of SEALUG showed off some stuff at a LEGO
display on Sat. 29th for Kids & Family day.

With over 10,000 people attending, there was much to see, but a main draw was a
MOC of the new library constructed from LEGO

(Sorry limited angles at the moment)
Built in about 8 days mainly by Wayne Hussey and Todd Kubo.
MOC measures roughly 2x3 feet, and approximately 2 feet tall. The scale was
limited to time, since we were only contacted 3 weeks prior to the event.

The Seattle Public Library designed by Rem Koolhaas.

Thanks!

(...) Great job Todd! All of those clear windows give it a great look. If it were made of clear brick, it wouldn't have that great feeling of space and airyness (is that a word?). I hope you get a chance to post more pictures! Very cool! Bill (20 years ago, 4-Jun-04, to lugnet.org.us.sealug)
