Re: Le Corbusier House in Stuttgart Weissenhof Estate form 1927

Oh my goodness, I really like seeing your work, I am sorry I missed this. I didn't realize. I enjoyed seeing all the details and the way you used so many great parts. Clean design, very well thought out. Great work. - Eric (17 years ago, 9-May-07, to lugnet.build.arch, lugnet.build.schleim)

Re: Le Corbusier House in Stuttgart Weissenhof Estate form 1927

(...) Holger, I actually gasped. :) Fantastic work, as always... it's always a pleasure to catch your updates. And I love your "photo from the same angle" way of showing off your creations. I'm a huge fan of modernist design, which I suppose by no (...) (17 years ago, 19-Apr-07, to lugnet.build.arch, lugnet.build.schleim, FTX)

Re: Le Corbusier House in Stuttgart Weissenhof Estate form 1927

(...) Gorgeous as usual! The curved wall by the entrance is nice, and the interior floor with the small tiles looks fantastic. I love to see the insides of buildings completed. The matching of real and Lego views is a great way to show all the (...) (17 years ago, 15-Apr-07, to lugnet.build.arch, lugnet.build.schleim, FTX)

--snip-- (...) Excellent work as usual, HoMa. My favourite touch is using the 1x4x3 clear panels forward and reverse to make 'opening' windows. Genius. Tim (17 years ago, 14-Apr-07, to lugnet.build.arch, lugnet.build.schleim, FTX)

  Re: Chinese pagoda

(...) Looks very nice! I especially like the different style railings on each level and the parts used to create them. Best, Jonathan (17 years ago, 13-Apr-07, to lugnet.town, lugnet.build.ancient, lugnet.build.arch, lugnet.build.microscale, FTX)

  Chinese pagoda

I constructed this microscale Chinese pagoda as a centerpiece for a dinner party (for 25!) that we hosted two weeks ago. It isn't accurate to any specific pagoda, but is broadly based on some of the techniques and styles I observed in some source (...)   Re: MOC: Kedleston Hall

Wow, Alistair, this is a beautiful recreation. I am particularly impressed with the interior detail. The tiled floor pattern is very nicely done is the room with the stately dark red columns. And the maersk blue room's fireplace and door lintel look (...) (17 years ago, 7-Mar-07, to lugnet.build.arch)

  Re: MOC: Scots Baronial house

I particularly like the modernization in (URL) this pic> although the rest are nice as well! God Bless, Nathan (URL) (17 years ago, 6-Mar-07, to lugnet.build.arch, FTX)

(...) Thanks for your kind comments (and thanks to Jim and Jonathan for theirs too). You're probably thinking of Chatsworth, which although definitely spectacular and worth a visit or ten (I was walking in the grounds the other weekend) is (...) (17 years ago, 5-Mar-07, to lugnet.build.arch)

  Re: MOC: Kedleston Hall

(...) Hi Al, This is really great. I just love thhe interiors, the snot work on the lower sections of the exterior and the use of the goblets in the railing. Very nice details all around. Best, Jonathan (17 years ago, 5-Mar-07, to lugnet.build.arch)

  Re: MOC: Kedleston Hall

(...) This looks really good. It looks like it, or a similar house was used in the most recent Pride and Prejudice film, with which my fiancee is obsessed. I'm debating whether or not to show her, as I may end up getting roped into building a (...) (17 years ago, 5-Mar-07, to lugnet.build.arch)

  Re: MOC: Kedleston Hall

(...) Alastair, this is a very impressive neo-classical edifice. The details on the basement level and the staircases is very well exectuted. I say that there is no need to apologize or explain any compromises in its construction. Anyone who builds (...) (17 years ago, 5-Mar-07, to lugnet.build.arch)

  MOC: Terraced houses

This is a recent MOC of a row of English terraced houses. It's typical of working class housing from around 1900 as can be found across much of the Midlands and North of England.   MOC: Scots Baronial house

I built this a few years ago, but I don't think I ever announced it at the time. It's a Scots Baronial mansion house, based on the buildings of 19th century Edinburgh architect David Bryce. It's not modelled on any single house - he'd never have had (...) (17 years ago, 5-Mar-07, to lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.town, lugnet.loc.uk, lugnet.build.arch) !

  MOC: Kedleston Hall

Kedleston Hall is a classical 18th century mansion in Derbyshire, UK. I've modelled it in LEGO, and you can see the results here: (URL) front is largely accurate, excepting the lack of sculpture and the fact that I've compressed the staircase so (...)   Tunnel Mouth / Bridge Arch

The tracks from the Snowmobile 8272 and Bulldozer 8275 make a great tunnel mouth or bridge arch - smoother than using slope bricks. (URL) used 27 links at the moment, fixing them twice on each side. The arch as built fits well over 6-wide, 8-wide or (...)
