Re: The Brick Testament: Jesus Redux

(...) Wow, Brendan, great job on scriptures! I have to say I feel a special connection to this project because my great uncle was the Lord’s Fisher of men. In fact, my grandfather’s brothers, Andrew & Peter, may be the faces that many of you (...) (19 years ago, 16-Feb-06, to lugnet.build.ancient, FTX)

Re: The Brick Testament: Jesus Redux

(...) I always do. Thanks. I remember listening to a sermon by my minister once about the "harder than a rich man ....eye of needle" passage. Well he was a pretty smart dude, and always went to Greek translation and explained that --the eye of a (...) (19 years ago, 16-Feb-06, to lugnet.build.ancient, FTX)

Re: The Brick Testament: the Book of Judges goes out with a bang

Hey Brendan, Nice installment, but I have to admit there's not a lot of new ground here for me to comment on. Peaceful, unsuspecting people - Probably my favorite thing in this story is the use of focused and unfocused areas of the photos in 7, 27, (...)   Re: Death of Socrates and Buddha's First Sermon

Very nice, Lenny. I agree with others that the tree and the fresco statues are the highlights, but these are overall just very good scenes. I like how you've outfitted Buddha with the cloaks and red rubber bands. Looking forward to more in this (...) (19 years ago, 30-Sep-05, to lugnet.build.ancient, FTX)

Re: The Brick Testament: Samson and Delilah

Tim and Felix, Can you please move such non-Lego discussions out of the .build group? Thanks, Clark (19 years ago, 29-Sep-05, to lugnet.build.ancient, lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: The Brick Testament: Samson and Delilah

(...) I think that a lot of the old testament is probably collected from the notes of the rabbis of various tribes. And those people probably acted like a combination spiritual guide/general scribe of their tribes. So what we see is a combination of (...) (19 years ago, 29-Sep-05, to lugnet.build.ancient, FTX)

Re: The Brick Testament: Samson and Delilah

(...) Outstanding, as usual. I like the philistine minifigs. It seems like every time you do a new story I think you'll be out of ways to portray different cultures. But you always do it great. Anyway, I was reading through some of the other (...) (19 years ago, 29-Sep-05, to lugnet.build.ancient, FTX)

Re: Death of Socrates and Buddha's First Sermon

(...) The style of this piece is intantly reconisable, From the fantastic fresco work above the temple (love the half turned torso's) to the Columed walkway to the main temple. But by far and away my favorite detail is the scales of justice. I can (...) (19 years ago, 29-Sep-05, to lugnet.build.ancient, FTX)
