Re: The Brick Testament begins the Book of Joshua

Hey, Bruce. (...) Thanks. (...) Point taken. (...) Needed something to tie the rope around for the spies' descent--as well as something to conceivably tie the scarlet cord to (although that will never actually be shown). (...) D'oh! Hadn't even (...)   Re: The Brick Testament begins the Book of Joshua

Hey Brendan, Great stuff as always. Spies and the Prostitute: I wouldn't have done the sex scene, but oh well. The blue and yellow room in 2:2 is great, especially the blue axles in the yellow bricks with axle hole--great little detail. I'm not a (...) (20 years ago, 17-Aug-04, to lugnet.build.ancient)

Re: The Brick Testament begins the Book of Joshua

What up, Len! (...) That *is* a strange shadow. But there's no photoshoppery going on there. I looked through my whole collection to figure how best to make a "scarlet cord". My best solution was to have the spy holding two hot dogs at such an angle (...) (20 years ago, 16-Aug-04, to lugnet.build.ancient)

  Re: MOC: Parthenon

(...) I like the scale you did it in. If you had doubled it, there would be no need to use the half-stud spacing which looks so snappy. -Erik (20 years ago, 6-Aug-04, to lugnet.build.ancient)

  Re: MOC: Parthenon

(...) Great proportions, Stefan. I'm especially fond of the cutaway peek-a-boo at the inside. Now if only the Brits would return the friezes... -Teddy (20 years ago, 5-Aug-04, to lugnet.build.ancient)

  Re: MOC: Parthenon

(...) Thanks! The model turned out to be more fun to build in this scale than with the 2x2 columns I started with. That larger version would have had more accurate proportions, but not much more detail. (20 years ago, 5-Aug-04, to lugnet.build.ancient)

  Re: MOC: Parthenon

(...) I really like how you used the tiles on the foundation. Good work. (20 years ago, 4-Aug-04, to lugnet.build.ancient)

  MOC: Parthenon

Just in time for the summer Olympics in Athens I finished the real life version of my MLCad-created Lego model of Parthenon, in approximately 1:240 scale. My model depicts the building in its ancient glory, not the sad but impressive ruins of today. (...) (20 years ago, 4-Aug-04, to lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.build.ancient) !!

Re: For building India, a review

(...) Hi Erik I have recently finished reading Prince of Ayodhya and you were right, it is a very readable, fast paced adventure. I thoroghly enjoyed it and reccomend it highly. Thanks again for the tip! Chris (20 years ago, 23-Jul-04, to lugnet.build.ancient)

  Re: Official display in Japan

(...) Wow, the movie is totally cool! It's funny - I have a hard time convincing my Architecture students that anything complicated can be done in LEGO without making it look like a toy..   Re: Santa Maria della Salute in Venice

(URL) (...) Many thanks for your nice feedback! (...) I had some fears about the heat of the bulbs. There are two 25 watt bulbs inside the Santa Maria. Incredible! I always admire Lego buildings in (near) mini-fig scale that capture all the details of the Real Thing. It is better than MiniLand, since I can almost imagine getting enough of the right bricks to build one - and have it still fit in my (...)
