Well, Brad Pitt was so dedicated to his role as Achilles that he even went and
tore his left achilles tendon!

But seriously, I expect it to rank right up there with Gladiator.  Fun popcorn
movie, overhyped, probably get some Oscars...but still falling short of
Braveheart.

Of particular interest is the fact that it's rumored that Patroclus will _NOT_
be Achilles' lover, like he very clearly is in The Iliad, and pretty much all
Greek mythology dealing with Achilles.  More's the pity.  It would have been
amusing to see how Pitt's girlie-fans would react to him playing a historically
accurate role...

About Troy... I'm not sure about the movie -- I hope it doesn't suck -- but I have been following the comic _Age of Bronze_ for some years and prefer that for references for MOCs. Eric Shanower uses every real detail he can get, while trying to (...) (21 years ago, 26-Apr-04, to lugnet.build.ancient, lugnet.castle, lugnet.gaming)
