  Minifig Venice

(URL) Hi all, just in time for the anual 1000steine.de-meeting after X-Mas ((URL)) I finished my minifig-scale model of Venice in Italy. The whole scenery is 4.5 x 7 baseplates (32x32 studs) large and includes some well known historic sights of the (...)   Re: How do you guys do it?

(...) There's one I'm still looking for, that someone posted on .space a while ago. It's the coolest thing I've seen. (...) Depends on the builder :P For me, that's true. I have a hard time building small, which is why I build both big and small, (...) (21 years ago, 30-Dec-03, to lugnet.build.military, lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.build.ancient)

Re: How do you guys do it?

(...) As others have said, Welcome! Lots of great ideas in this thread, as a 'old-timer' I thought I could toss out a couple more. Don't feel you need to build HUGE things. Yes, some of us love to build massive things like 8-wide trains and 4+ foot (...)   Re: How do you guys do it?

(...) Welcome aboard, Dave! I don't have much to add to the wisdom already dispensed on this thread, but here are a few other suggestions to help you in your building (some of these may be repeats). 1. Start with a cool first name. (You seem already (...) (21 years ago, 29-Dec-03, to lugnet.build.military, lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.build.ancient, lugnet.build.military)

Re: How do you guys do it?

(...) Many great suggestions by others..... I do a lot of mutations. Start out with something, get and an idea on how to change it, change it. Try something else throw it out, try again. Don't expect that it will come out just the way you want the (...) (21 years ago, 29-Dec-03, to lugnet.build.military, lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.build.ancient, lugnet.build.military)

(...) Basically just throwing in a 'right on' to all that's been said. Only thing to add is that you've already taken the most important step, and that is joining this community. I lurked for over a year before starting to build. Then, I tried to (...) (21 years ago, 29-Dec-03, to lugnet.build.military, lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.build.ancient, lugnet.build.military)

Re: How do you guys do it?

(...) Experiment. Build. It sounds simple, and that's all the really is to it. What I find helps me is I keep a project list of some projects I'd like to work on. Some of them have came to be, others have just sat around in pieces. For example, I (...) (21 years ago, 29-Dec-03, to lugnet.build.military, lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.build.ancient)

Re: How do you guys do it?

(...) How? Start building. You'll get better. That's not a flippant answer, it's the truth. Do as many of the following things as you can: - Build stuff "in the style of" official sets, perhaps working from their instructions to learn various idioms (...)   How do you guys do it?

Ya know, I've been into Lego for a while myself. I haven't had the time or money I'd have liked to have for it over the last few years, but I do still love Lego. I've been coming to this site for a while now, and I just have one question for (...)   Re: The Brick Testament: The Full Extent of The Law

Re: The Brick Testament: The Full Extent of The Law

(...) Oh man ---- This batch has to be the funniest yet. I'm still pissing my pants... Best one: when the parents teach the Law to their kids! Reverend, great work! Keep em coming :) (21 years ago, 30-Oct-03, to lugnet.build.ancient)

Re: The Brick Testament: The Full Extent of The Law

(...) Awesome stuff Brendan. I'm almost sad to see The Law end - by far the most fun I've had reading your stuff yet. I'm guessing all the modern faculties are part of that... Anyways: What Not To Eat - Love the two horns together on animals - that (...) (21 years ago, 30-Oct-03, to lugnet.build.ancient)

The one-humped camel was domesticated, separately, in the Arabian desert and had a much more widespread territory. Ancient artwork outside Persian (...)   Re: The Brick Testament: The Full Extent of The Law

(...) That had to hurt. (...) Yikes. I'll make do with my gray and red birds, though one of these days I'll get that newer Belville set that has lots of food and dish elements (___'s Bazaar, I think), and that has the pastel birds.   Re: The Brick Testament: The Full Extent of The Law

(...) Thanks, Bruce. (...) Yeah, I don't know if a Brick Testament book based on The Law could work at all without them... (...) I was thinking it was a buck deer, but since the antlers don't branch at all, a gazelle may be a better interpretation. (...) (21 years ago, 30-Oct-03, to lugnet.build.ancient)

Re: The Brick Testament: The Full Extent of The Law

(...) Weeee! (...) Some have one, others have two. My LEGO camels have one, because two would be very hard to fit on there and keep it in scale with minifigs. (...) Clean?   Re: The Brick Testament: The Full Extent of The Law

Hey Brendan, Great work as always. Congratulations on finishing the Law. What not to eat: A lot of humor though this section made it very fun. This is a definite argument for the inclusion of dialog bubbles if you did a book on this section. I like (...) (21 years ago, 29-Oct-03, to lugnet.build.ancient)

Re: The Brick Testament: The Full Extent of The Law

(...) Although this final installment of The Law was pretty brief, with only two or three images per section, it was still very good. I especially liked your rendition of God punishing the man who decided to follow his own moral compass. The picture (...) (21 years ago, 29-Oct-03, to lugnet.build.ancient)
