I have another one to add (if you think it qualifies) - There is a small
yellow bird in a white bird cage in the Bellville set 5808 (Enchanted
Palace). It might appear elsewhere but this is the only set I've seen it in
so far. Not being much of an ornithologist (and too lazy to look it up) I
can't tell from the bird whether its shape is intended to represent a
canary, a parakeet or perhaps just a generic bird.
Jason's original post about his zoo idea and the subsequent postings about
the animals coincided with me doing some opening/sorting of some Belville
sets (a new experience for me) so I've really been looking at my animals a
lot lately.
Looking at my menagerie the thought occurs to me that what would make a
great addition to a town layout is a pet store. Since a lot of the animals
are domesticated types (or types that at least some folks consider pets)
this could work out well. There are multiple colors and styles of cats, the
small Belville dogs (the large ones are too big), the various parrot/falcon
birds, the caged yellow bird, snakes, spiders, scorpions, and of course
monkeys! I think a pretty complete pet store could be created out of all of
this.
Great - just what I needed - another idea to add to The List of Things to
Build Immediately as Soon as I Finish Sorting and Find the Time.
