Right now it is green overall with the underside of the wings and fuselage in light grey. It also has D-day invasion markings on the bottom as well ( black and white stripes on the bottom rear part of the fuselage) At this point lego doesn't make a (...) Geordan, Most Wartime Spitfires were of a brown, and 2 shade green color, while Photo recon spits were a pale blue shade. Some USAAF and RAF spitfires as well as RN seafires were in a pale grey color that the light grey lego shade approximates very (...) (23 years ago, 2-Aug-01, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general)

Yeah I thought of making the spitfire two tone of tan and green or something like that, but the results aren't very apealing, it is impossible to get smooth camo lines with lego, that's why I figured that I may do decals instead, I'm still (...) Thanks! Great pages with lots of pics! I've gotten about a three foot pile of books on WWII aircraft and spits over the past two weeks so I'm up to my knees in resources ( literally!) I've settled on the colours after fiddlin with the CAD format of the spit, it's either going to be brown and green mixed together, or tan and green mixed. Neither of them look half bad IMO. (...) (23 years ago, 3-Aug-01, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general)

(...) G'day Geordan, You might be interested in trying the "verdigris" light green used in the Statue of Liberty set for the underside.
