A challenging way to build--

I've been getting too quick in building lego projects. For the $, I'd like the
building time to last longer...an idea I've been using on the UCS Star Wars
models and others is to not obey the instruction books--but instead, build
from front to back, or back to front, or left to right, etc.

Suddenly the instruction manual becomes a series of clues, and its challenging
to figure out what comes next and why.

Maybe it sounds silly, but it makes these $100 boxes of legos last
longer...the instructions seem too easy as is...

i've tried assembling by looking at the box alone, but I'm not smart enough to
pull it off...maybe with Duplo :)

I used to ignore the main model and strip all new sets for pieces in MOC's. Recently, I started building the main model if its good, but they usually are really easy. For a given project size, I've found that a MOC takes 3-5 times longer than (...) (24 years ago, 13-Sep-00, to lugnet.build)
