    Smooth Plates —Robert Fay
I need 12 1x6 or 1x8 smooth plates. Any color. I can get a few in the 8277 Giant Builder. Any body know of another set that has an abundance of these plates? I use them for ways on my machines. Any help is appreciated. (26 years ago, 1-Jan-99, to lugnet.build)

(...) express and ANWB Breakdown (Both of which Nik built today and they go together pretty good) but those are out of production and very expensive. Doesn't the little eXtreme team airboat use a few? DO they HAVE to be 1x6, or would more 1x4s work. (...) (26 years ago, 2-Jan-99, to lugnet.build)

Larry Pieniazek wrote in message <368D93CF.3B9E29E2@c...AM.com>... (...) The Technic forklift 8248 has 4 8x1 black tiles, and is fairly cheap for a Technic set. So if you're into Technic 3 of these would do it. Moz (25 years ago, 2-Jan-99, to lugnet.build)

Currently on offer at: www.auczilla.com/lego/ix/ there are 1 x 6 tiles in grey and black and 1 x 8 tiles in grey, (...) (25 years ago, 3-Jan-99, to lugnet.build)

(...) FWIW, they are often called tiles to avoid ambiguity. Just thought I'd mention it. -Tom McD. when replying, <spam><spam><spam> huh? what's wrong with my gun? (25 years ago, 16-Jul-99, to lugnet.build)

Tiles (was Re: Smooth Plates) —Robert Munafo
Oops! How did I do that? Yes, I meant tiles, of course. The set 6584 has 14 1 x 6 *tiles* like I described, not plates. I must have read the subject line and got confused. (...) (25 years ago, 16-Jul-99, to lugnet.build)

        Re: Smooth Plates —Mike Poindexter
Robert, There is a MUCH better set for the tiles! The current 9V Level Crossing set, #4532, which is only $24 from Shop@Home. It has eight 1x8 tiles in white AND eight in gray. In addition, it has 4 of the large super low slopes in Gray, a gray 7 (...) (25 years ago, 17-Jul-99, to lugnet.build)
