    gun1 project —Randy Anchikoski
Hey! If you are anti-gun (or anti-Super-Soaker for that matter), skip looking at this. However, it is for fun and the text on the page explains my take. (URL) Anchikoski randy@viclug.tzo.com (24 years ago, 14-Aug-00, to lugnet.build) !!

        Re: gun1 project —Richard Marchetti
Maybe Shiri can tell us if this young man is any competition for an Israeli soldier... Nice model, BTW. I have the weird feeling this one will catch negative feedback -- not so much for the building skills of its creator (which are obviously pretty (...) (24 years ago, 14-Aug-00, to lugnet.build)

         Re: gun1 project —Randy Anchikoski
Thanks for the feedback and positive comments. The politics are a problem and I debated posting in the first place. I grew up with a gun around and my dad ALWAYS kept the clip and bold separate and hidden (3 generations before it became law up here (...) (24 years ago, 14-Aug-00, to lugnet.build)

        Re: gun1 project —Chris Maddison
(...) I like the forearm and scope the most. And it looks like with a few slight modifications, the stock could be made to fold up over scope... Overall, very nice, and realistic to boot. Can't wait to see how you'll pull off the bolt-action! -Chris (24 years ago, 14-Aug-00, to lugnet.build)

         Re: gun1 project —Randy Anchikoski
Thanks for the reply! Folding stock is a great idea. Maybe fold under though, and I doubt Technic pins or axles would hold the weight. I'll try to think of something... As for the bold, shouldn't be a problem except I'll probably have to use a large (...) (24 years ago, 14-Aug-00, to lugnet.build)

         Re: gun1 project —Bryan Wong
(...) Um, chances are, I don't know what I'm talking about, so please excuse my ignorance. What about that projectile shooter thingy from Knights' Kingdom sets? (eg. 6096, 6091) Bryan (24 years ago, 14-Aug-00, to lugnet.build)

         Re: gun1 project —Randy Anchikoski
Yup, spell checker found 'bold' and it is indeed a word. The word should have been 'bolt'. As for firing objects, I suppose it could be done except my barrel is non-hollow. I'd have to devise a different system. Randy -- Randy Anchikoski (...) (24 years ago, 14-Aug-00, to lugnet.build)

         Re: gun1 project —David Arnon
(...) If you like technic sets you probably have by now a big collection of technic engine cylinder heads and round engine pistons. I know I do. I don't like single purpose pieces and I tried to think of an alternate use for them. What I came up (...) (24 years ago, 15-Aug-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.technic)

         Re: gun1 project —Randy Anchikoski
Hmmm. Sounds like a great idea. I've tried making pressurized peashooters (actually, spitwad) with LEGO without much luck. I'll give that some thought. Thanks! Randy -- Randy Anchikoski randy@viclug.tzo.com "David A." (...) (24 years ago, 15-Aug-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.technic)

         Re: gun1 project —Steve Bliss
(...) Could you use a hammer mechanism to launch the projectiles, or are you focused on a pneumatic solution? It seems easy enough to imagine a setup with a magazine of piston heads, a spring-loaded striking rod, and a rotary device to cock the rod. (...)           Re: gun1 project —Chris Maddison
(...) guard's almost too big to hold it comfortably. But the internal gear setup looks ideal, and the grip looks nice too. This person's got some real talent. -Chris (24 years ago, 17-Aug-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.technic)

         Re: gun1 project —David Arnon
(...) Well, it could be done, but then the barrel seems useless - it'll only stop the piston with friction. The long barrel is only an advantage when you use compressed air (in a pneumatic gun) or other compressed gases (in a regular gun). I really (...)         Re: gun1 project —Michael Firman
Truly amazing! Where do you get so many grey pieces from? Maybe you could now build a complete arsnel- grenades, machine guns, handguns, ammo belts etc. Mike (24 years ago, 15-Aug-00, to lugnet.build)

         Re: gun1 project —Randy Anchikoski
Thanks! The grey pieces came from 6339 Shuttle Launch Pad and I guess a few Y-Wings. I intend to make a few more of these things as time goes by. Just got a new job, however, so it may be a while until time is free again. L'8er! Randy Michael Firman (...) (24 years ago, 15-Aug-00, to lugnet.build)

Thanks for the comments. I'm going to shut down the server for a few minutes as of this post (my cable provider's DHCP server is dead, and my main site is down, so I want to reboot and try to get it up).    (...) Great job Randy, looks like he's practicing good gun control(i.e. how to point, aim, and fire! He'd intimidate even a Columbian drug lord. These LEGO's are truly amazing. -Harvey (24 years ago, 17-Aug-00, to lugnet.build)

        Re: gun1 project —Randy Anchikoski
Thanks! I hope to get my hands on a few Y-Wings so that I can build another model I had in mind. Maybe a gattling gun or something. Randy -- Randy Anchikoski randy@viclug.tzo.com "Harvey Henkelman" <Harvey000001@cs.com> wrote in message (...) (24 years ago, 18-Aug-00, to lugnet.build)
