Hmmm. Sounds like a great idea. I've tried making pressurized peashooters
(actually, spitwad) with LEGO without much luck. I'll give that some
thought. Thanks!

If you like technic sets you probably have by now a big collection of
technic engine cylinder heads and round engine pistons. I know I do.
I don't like single purpose pieces and I tried to think of an alternate
use for them. What I came up with was to use multiple engine
cylinder heads stacked one on top of the other to form a barrel [1],
then, the engine piston makes an excellent projectile (bullet) with an
exact fit inside the barrel.
If you put the bullet at one end of the barrel and blow through it the
bullet is 'shot' quite rapidly.
I tried to use pneumatics to replace my lungs in order to make a
pneumatic gun (with a valve as the trigger) , but the result was
disappointing - the bullet came out of the barrel so slowly it hardly
looked like anything real [2].
- Maybe you can do better...
[1] I used small rubber bands from <set:8002> in an attempt to seal
the barrel at the connection points between the cylinder heads.
[2] with a compressor it was even worse - it took forever to get to a
decent pressure.
Just an idea,
- David
