My problem is this: Although the landing gear can support the weight of the
bomber, it is still quite fragile. The nose gear folds foward into the nose. If
the bomber moves at all, the nose gear collapses.

use a locking mechanism that will prevent the gear from being pushed up by the
weight alone.  (see 8480, or 8425 for some nicely done ones for just such
purposes) got any pictures? :)

(...) nose. If (...) You mean Lego sets #8480 and #8425? Or are those message numbers? Sorry, I'm brand new to the Lugnet community. About pictures, 'fraid not. It is my intent to take some pictures (make a website out of it!) but I don't have any (...) (25 years ago, 4-Feb-00, to lugnet.build)

I built a very large & detailed model of a B-1B Lancer. It comes loaded: power windows, bucket seats, AM/FM radio......just kidding. =) My problem is this: Although the landing gear can support the weight of the bomber, it is still quite fragile. (...) (25 years ago, 3-Feb-00, to lugnet.build)
