I just want to rush out and say that I once tried to use water in my old
style pneumatics parts when I was a kid. I was thinking that this could
make them operate as hydraulics. However, this ruined the valves, and
they have never functioned again. So be careful! Perhaps the new style
pneumatics can handle exposure to water, but I wouldn't want to risk it
anyway.

| (...) Huh, interesting. I didn't use water extensively, but I tried it, and mine weren't ruined. And these would definitely have been the old style. (25 years ago, 6-Aug-99, to lugnet.build)
