    Fluid inside Pneumatics —Sebastian Fernandez
Hi everybody. I am into developing hydraulic suspension for my Technic Citroen DS project. Pneumatics are perfect as dampers, only that when I put pressure inside them they behave like springs-That's air's disadvantage, it compressess itself under (...)         Re: Fluid inside Pneumatics —Fredrik Glöckner
(...) I just want to rush out and say that I once tried to use water in my old style pneumatics parts when I was a kid. I was thinking that this could make them operate as hydraulics. However, this ruined the valves, and they have never functioned (...) (25 years ago, 4-Aug-99, to lugnet.build)

(...) Huh, interesting. I didn't use water extensively, but I tried it, and mine weren't ruined. And these would definitely have been the old style. (25 years ago, 6-Aug-99, to lugnet.build)

Re: Fluid inside Pneumatics —Matthew Miller
(...) As we learned in the robotics ng, air _is_ a fluid. :) Anyway, I know what you mean. I don't have any pneumatic stuff now, but I remember testing this as a kid and it worked fine. (25 years ago, 6-Aug-99, to lugnet.build)

Re: Fluid inside Pneumatics —Larry Pieniazek
I bet he meant to say he wants a (relatively) incompressible fluid as his working fluid. (...) (25 years ago, 8-Aug-99, to lugnet.build)

I've used mineral oil with no ill effects to my pneumatic parts : ) (25 years ago, 22-Aug-99, to lugnet.build)
