Hey Jeff,
Let me break this down a bit for everyone. You can submit as many models as
you like. You may submit both a CAD version and a real version of the same
model if you like. They will be judged independently in all categories that
they qualify for. The models can be of anything in the SW universe, sets (like
Hoth or Mos Espa), gun turrets (ion cannon anyone?), armoured walkers,
speeders, moisture evaporators (hehe), and of course my favorite, space ships.
I will judge them in all of the catagories that they qualify for. So you could
win any of the catagories that you qualify for. But you can only win one
category. I will pick the best model in a given cataegory. If that model were
also to be judged best in another category I would then pick the most
appropriate category for that model to win in. By appropriate I mean that I
will pick category winners so that I get the best seven models possible. These
models will then be eligible for the Best in Contest Prize. I'll post some
more clarification on my website when I get home tonight. (stupid firewall!)
Good Luck Everyone!
Oh Yeah, I forgot. I have been asked; Why are you shelling out all this dough
for prizes for a free contest? (about 150 dollars plus Minifigs and other
legos). Well there are many answers to that question. So here we go.
1. I want to see top quality SW models and have a good site to host pictures
of them and I don't mind paying for it.
2. I felt it was time to give something back to the Lego fan community.
3. It was time to generate some excitement about SW Legos. I anticipated a
post EP1 Set lull.
4. People should be recoginized for their great work.
5. The Official Lego SW Contest seems to be not realy centered about Star Wars
Models. Plus I can't seem to get any info about it from them. As usuall the
Lego Fans are far ahead!
6. I'm generous, kind, warm hearted, and little crazy (probably from chewing
on ABS as a youngster!)
7. Needed an excuse to go to TRU.
8. Making good money from internship this summer. So why not blow it!
9. I want to see someone challenge Ben Fleskes' MF. (no favoratism here, just
an observation)
10. My brain is hurting, can't think of 10th reason......

| Me too. I want to see something that inspires me to make my Millennium Falcon model even better and I tend to be competitive in nature. But having just heard of an AT-AT in the works, I suspect I may be relegated to runner up. I think it is great (...) (25 years ago, 29-Jun-99, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.build)
