At last year’s BrickFest, a couple of friends from two LTCs told me NMRA would be in southern California in ‘08 and asked if I would be interested in building a bridge linking the layout of these two clubs. My answer was “Sure!”

I wasn’t quite sure what to make so I narrowed it down to two styles and sought the input of the clubs of what design they liked most. The winner was an old favorite, Study 5 from 2002. The original Study 5 was never intended to be in a layout (for one, it’s 75 not 80 bricks tall) but has been reborn and “layout ready” (even for 8-wides) as Study 23 for NMRA 2008.

(...) What a massive and very cool bridge! I can only imagine how many light gray bricks were acquired for its construction... I'll look forward to seeing pictures of it in-use at the show. I also like your Study 21 very well, as seen here: (URL) (...) (16 years ago, 11-Jul-08, to lugnet.build, FTX)

(...) Three letters say it all: OMG!!! What an amazing and detailed design. I sure wish I had room (and bricks) for anything alike. Keep on the fantastic work, Jerry (16 years ago, 11-Jul-08, to lugnet.build, FTX)
