And now for something completely different...
I got tired of the old one, and wanted something a little more functional and
LEGO based. This is what came from it..

There are four pictures that show how the simple thing is put together. It hangs
on some craft wire off a picture hook. I used 28-30 inches of craft wire, along
with some beads I had lying around. The wire is looped thru each of the
lift-arms and then crimped with a couple of small jewelry crimps. The wire I
used is called Acculon, but I think any small diameter wire or fishing line
would work just fine. The beads were there just to add decoration, almost
anything would work.. all the way up to expensive Sworaski crystals.
Parts list:
4x 32219 Wheel 32mm Znap Propeller
2x 3737 Technic, Axle 10
1x 6538 Technic, Axle Joiner
4x 3713 Technic Bush
2x 41666 Technic, Arm 1 x 7 with Gear 9 Tooth Double Bevel Ends
1x ----- craft wire or fishing line 28-36 inches
-- ----- something decorative to put on the wire (beads, crystals, clickets,
etc)
2x ----- jewlery crimps
The wheels could be almost anything that has a similar diameter. I just grabbed
those because they were handy and were about the right diameter. Ditto the
Technic Arms, I had some extras. I think those came from one of the Bionicle
sets.
After two weeks of use, Ive had no operational problems with it. Just pull the
two halves apart to replace the roll of paper :)
