   Hi,

One of my colleague (not an AFOL) is a great fan of Napoleon. As he knows about my strange hobby (“laygoz”), he asked me a MOC some months ago.

I’m not a great or prolific builder (and I feel good with that) so I took a look at Allan Bedford’s book for some ideas.

The miniland people in chapter 4 caught my eyes so I had a try at a miniland scale Napoleon and decided to make (another) building instruction to share it :

PS : MisaQa great hair style for miniland charachter is also very inspirating , be sure to check her BS gallery : http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?m=MisaQa

PPS : I haven’t been able to find a more suitable FUT group, if build.minilandscale doesn’t exist, it should be created.

Good stuff, Didier! Thanks for sharing - I’m a big Napoleon fan as well. I have a print of David’s Napoleon Crossing the Alps hanging in my dining room.

(Side note : I have a print of Edward Hopper - the long leg : http://users.ox.ac.uk/~geoff/longleg.jpg - funny how we have both choosen trans-atlantic painters for our dining room ;-))

Was your depiction based on a particular image of Napoleon?

Yes, my colleague gave me a picture of a figurine. It look more or less like this one : http://www.napoleon-prints.com/images/dhm_206_small.jpg

Seeing this particular picture I’m realizing I should have added a sword.

It’s a shame that his right hand is hiding the red and white shirt (vest?). Perhaps you could extend that bit another stud upwards so that they are visible above the hand.

Maybe not extend upwards but shorten the arm...well many things are possible with LEGO parts but become more and more difficult when scaling down :)

Thanks.
