In this picture, is the roadbed just resting on the supports?

The roadbed rests on a platform and held in place using the 4x4 size turntable. I considered using the newer Technic ones (found on the 8421 crane) but the cost turned me away.

Honestly, I don’t know the tension in ft-lbs but if you “pluck” the line, it’s not a guitar in tune. When I was setting it up, I decided to push my bricks and see how much sag there would be w/out any support beneath and it was a lot but it did not break. When both parts were connected in the middle the sag wasn’t as bad but a “dip” was still quite visible. The original plan called for more lines but when I attached the ends and middle using one line (on each side), the sag was fixed and I decided to call it quits. Later versions will have more lines.
