  Spheres Galore

The Heart of Gold is no longer too round to build! (URL) If anyone wants to render some of the results for the LDraw-deprived, go right ahead. (19 years ago, 14-May-05, to lugnet.build, lugnet.space) !!

  Re: Spheres Galore

(...) WOW! That. is. amazing. Many thanks. Jason Railton P.S. One quick point - on a single face of a sphere of diameter 14, I notice the lower straight edge is an odd number of studs long, offset half a stud from the layer above. You can't actually (...) (...) Okay, here's a quickly assembled 14-stud diameter sphere in tan: (URL) Sphere>> Ably supported by my assistant Atlas: (URL) And badly photographed by me... This was built from the following rendering of one facet, direct from Bruce's script - (...) (19 years ago, 14-May-05, to lugnet.build, FTX)

  Re: Spheres Galore

(...) I can think of a way you could do it, but as you showed in your next post, you really don't need to. I'm pretty sure that any gaps left by the jumpers will be covered up in all designs. I think the bit of code that decides whether or not to us (...) (19 years ago, 14-May-05, to lugnet.build)

(...) Bram's script. Bruce made the 'original' small plate sphere. Anyway, it's great that you were inspired to build one right away! Did you play around much with different diameters to get one that looked best, or did you just go with what came (...) (19 years ago, 14-May-05, to lugnet.build, FTX)

  Re: Spheres Galore

(...) That's a really great application you developed. I bet we'll see a lot more spheres incorporated into MOC's now... Great job! Chris (19 years ago, 14-May-05, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Spheres Galore

(...) (URL) And here's a render of one the size of the Death Star II kit (60 studs diameter) (without jumpers). Now that would be a plates part pack! (URL) --Bram (19 years ago, 14-May-05, to lugnet.build, lugnet.starwars, FTX) !

  Re: Spheres Galore

(...) Sorry, a typo. I was too busy building! I was thinking of building something with moonbase ports fitted on the side (my 'podule' idea of 16-stud square units, with swappable caps and 16-stud corridors), so 14 studs seemed about right. It was (...) (19 years ago, 14-May-05, to lugnet.build, FTX)
