Yes, very similar. Now that you mention them, I think I saw these when you posted them back in February and thought they were neat. But I can’t say I had them in mind when I was fiddling around with the macaroni bricks, at least not on a conscious level--otherwise I would have given you a shout-out for inspiration.

I’m not sure which designs have more “practical uses”. You wre able to incorporate a spindled fence patterns into a MOC, whereas I’m not sure I’ll be able to, say, work a macaroni brick pattern into The Brick Testament as I have previously done with the headlight brick patterns, which naturally lend themselves to being floor or wall patterns.

Thanks for pointing out this overlooked connection and likely unconscious insipration.

(URL) Same design concept> as what I've done with the (URL) spindled fence> but with more practical uses. If I've got a lot more fences, I could certainly try to use your designs. AC (20 years ago, 6-Apr-05, to lugnet.build, FTX)
