  Octagonal building technique: help!
 
I am in the process of creating a building that has eight sides. Four of them were easy to create as they are either perpendicular or parallel to each other. The problem is with the other four sides. I tried using a "Brick 3x3 Facet" to go across (...) (19 years ago, 12-Mar-05, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general)

(...) unfortunently the faset brick isin't very usefull past using it with another faset part. the easyist way to acheive the octagonal look is to use hinge bricks or plates and angle the walls. here's the parts that will be most usefull: (2 URLs) (...) (19 years ago, 12-Mar-05, to lugnet.build)

(...) On that note, there's a few particular sizes of 45 degrees that work well enough within Lego tolerances. Like, a 45 degree wall of length 7, 17, 24, 33, or 41 will all join up with the hinges Ondrew mentioned, and be pretty darn close to (...) (19 years ago, 12-Mar-05, to lugnet.build)

I used the parts linked above to make some octagonal towers in a large castle MOC I built recently. At the bottom, I attached two opposite sides (parallel) to the supporting pieces below the tower, and then let the other 6 sides "float", just (...) (19 years ago, 13-Mar-05, to lugnet.build)
