Neat stuff. I am a fan of the door rail part as I think it is quite versatile. It is an interesting compromise you made, using that part and the 3x3 plate with corner cut off but otherwise restricting yourself to non rounded, non sloped, full stud offset parts. Did you consider and reject other compromise parts?

I wonder what a version of this would look like using various rounded parts (ala the ATSF F unit nose)?

(...) I tried to build each piece of the puzzle as straightforward as possible. The 3x3 plate without corner was not in the first (MLCad) version. I wanted something to stick out slightly (to come closer to the shape of a sphere), without using an (...) (20 years ago, 31-Dec-04, to lugnet.build)

Hi all, 1) In April I designed a LEGO-version of the wooden puzzle-cube (in MLCad). (URL) 2) In May it was followed by the spherical version of that very same puzzle (also in MLCad). (URL) 3) When I got back from Billund with lots of tan and brown (...) (20 years ago, 30-Dec-04, to lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.build, lugnet.cad, FTX) !
