This is a model I constructed while at LEGOLAND, but it never did get to be used
for its intended purpose. Luckily, I was able to get it as my going away
present! Several of you guys that have been inside the modelshop have seen this,
but never fully finished and hanging. The only thing left to do is instal the
working clock mechanism.

Let me know what ya'll think!

Thanks!

Wow!  I can see why you are a professional model maker.  This model is a step
above even the excellent models displayed here by enthusiasts.

I think this is in part due to the artistic flavor of the model.  The colors
chosen and their placement create a very aesthetically pleasing model.  And
there is definite attention to shapes--and I don't mean just the way Lego shapes
are used...as a matter of fact, from a distance, I bet it would be hard to tell
if this were made of Lego...the way the Lego shapes have been combined to
produce defining shapes in the model stand out as an artistic element.

I think more and more people here are able to hone the craft of designing with
Lego parts and create excellent models, but I think the artistic approach
enhances the excellent craftsmanship in this model and sets it apart.

This is one instance where buying a cuckoo clock would be well worth the insane
prices these things go for!!!

Of course, if I had to pick something to critisize, it would be the use of
non-Lego parts.  This is a craft constraint that a majority of people on this
group adhere to and I think it has merit.  It adds some complexity and might
take away a few outside possibilities when making a model, but makes up for this
by being able to be called a pure solution, imho.

Spotlighted!
