Here is an MOC of the star of one of my all-time favorite movies, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Though I built her over a year ago, I’ve only recently taken the time to snap off some pics (The girth of the minifigs necessitated that I exclude Truly:-() One other disappointment was not being able to utilize the newer, Adventurers wheels (not available in red yet) mounted on a 2 x4 plate with pins, rather than the old bulky and unsightly 2x4 brick wheel holders.

There are some clever building techniques, mostly as a result from consultations with my 12 year son, Ross;-)

Hope you enjoy my fine, four-fendered friend!

JOHN

I love it! The car looks great. The wings look very accurate. (I haven't seen the film in a while) Great Job. Ben (21 years ago, 4-Sep-03, to lugnet.build, lugnet.town, FTX)

(...) **snip** Congrats to "Consultant Ross". (...) Beautiful model. I particularly like the way the sloping front fenders notch around the bit below the front windscreen. Very smart model. Saw that the movie was on TV just this past weekend, I (...) (21 years ago, 4-Sep-03, to lugnet.build, lugnet.town, FTX)

(...) John that is so awsome! That is one of my fave movies from my youth. Scary thing is that I remember seeing this movie in the theater. If you don't mind I might lift that design here in the future and include it on one of my layouts. jt (21 years ago, 4-Sep-03, to lugnet.build, lugnet.town, FTX)

(...) "A child shall lead them" eh? (...) Very nice indeed. Lots of charming touches and it really captures the spirit of one of my favorite movies well (1)... but leaving Truly out... that truly is a shame. Did you consider the adventurers car (...) (...) John, Such a fun MOC. Now I'm sitting at my desk with the Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang song running through my head. Maybe this should be cross-posted to .Disney? Was this a Disney movie? Or am I just getting mixed up with Mary Poppins? Bruce (21 years ago, 4-Sep-03, to lugnet.build, lugnet.town, lugnet.disney, FTX)

(...) John, This is really great. I saw CCBB a few months ago, and was wondering how well one could make a CCBB in LEgo, I see you can do it very well. When I get the hankering for making some old time cars, I'll have to go back to this for (...) (21 years ago, 5-Sep-03, to lugnet.build, lugnet.town, FTX)
