Umm, question Ive had for a bit but being newbie wasnt sure about whether
its been discussed or where to look.

With respect to the 'standards' for colors, what about things such as neon
and trans?

Like whenever i am pov-ray-ing my trans-neon-green stuff I have to generate
my own color to use because there is no standard-trans-neon-green number in
the mlcad that I could find.  Now maybe I missed it and someone can just
solve my problem by giving me the right number. But I noticed on the chart
in this post that there is dark medium bright light but no neon and no
'trans'.

I guess trans is kind of something you dont really include in a color chart
since you cant include 'transparent' on a page.  But neon I would think
would want to be included.

Just curious.  I'm all about standards and Id rather being using a standard
color then making my own and having it change sometimes because of crashes
or whatever.

Color chart, eh? Not a bad idea. I usually print out LDraw.doc or
LEdit.doc for that. But I'll work on incorporating it into the next • release.

If possible, try to make sure it's useful when printed in black
and white.  I usually print it double sided, two pages per side
on the fancy (but b&w) laser printer to save paper (and inkjet ink).

Also LEdit.doc and LDraw.doc colors only document solid colors up to 15.
Orange, tan, gold, and some others are left out.  I think some of these
are fairly standardized by now.  See the Ldraw FAQ color chart:

(...) To find the trans colors in MLCad, just open the colors window. There's a sliders on the right side of the window, slide it down one "click". You should see all the trans colors. -Orion (21 years ago, 5-May-03, to lugnet.build, lugnet.cad)
