I finally got around to posting all the photos I took of Winter Study 10:

http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=33454

Some notes-

Overall span = 480 studs (approx. 12 1/2 feet)
Overall height (measured from ground to black roadway) = 98 bricks & 2
plates (approx. 37 inches)
Time from concept to finished creation = 2 1/2 months (lots of BrickLink and
LD orders)
Approximate part count = 15,000 bricks

Other things to pass along are some changes made in this vs. its older
brother, midsummer's Study 5.

One single bridge, not two linked through the use of crossing platforms.
Arch width of 12 studs, not 8 studs-air space-8 studs as Study 5.
Use of 1x1x5 bricks, less 1x1x1's and not going crazy as I did using the
1500+ 1x1x1's.
Use of ''capitols'' made of plates set under the platform to improve linkage
of the 1x1 columns to the platform.  Some 2x8 bricks were damaged in Study 5
for linking failures.
Use of 1x1 cones, 1x1 round plates, and 1x2 jumper plates for decoration
above the edge railing (not done in Study 5)

And the clincher-  No train tracks!  But rather a roadway made up of 1200
black 2x2 tiles with 1x8 yellow plates along the edges.

I'd like to thank all those at BricksWest 2003 for their great comments of
my work.

(...) Nice work, Adrian. Did you use graph paper or a program or something to get the shpae of the arch? ROSCO (22 years ago, 18-Feb-03, to lugnet.build)

What a GREAT JOB! That is one of the best bridges I've ever seen made out of Lego's. (22 years ago, 19-Feb-03, to lugnet.build)
