Ah, that explains it.  I've never tried the motorization instructions.
I have a couple of Mindstorms motors - maybe I'll try one of those.


Later chassis models (8865 and 8880) don't have motorization
instructions; they're just too massive for the motors of their times.
Perhaps 8848 will work with the latest 8735 motor.

Now, did the gears actually jam, or did they just turn with a lot of
friction?

They turned with a lot of friction :)
