Lessee -- on a P2-400 with 196 Mb RAM, rendering at 320 x 200 (I'm too lazy
to get real benchmarks right now, plus my boss is hovering around my office
right now :-) with an AA of .3, the sky alone takes 52 seconds. The entire
scene takes 1 minute 49 seconds. I'm assuming that one can extrapolate that
to figure how long a 1024 x 768 rendering will take -- there are roughly 12
times as many pixels in the larger image.
I'll be adding terrain to the scene soon, using Terragen. This is way fun!

| (...) Is there a quick way to import Terragen landscapes into POV other than cutting & pasting the image? If there is, does it render slower or faster than Terragen? --Bram (26 years ago, 13-Apr-99, to lugnet.build)
