  Poor Mans Work Table

The following work table was my Sundays project. For starters I use to build on a 3/8 inch 4x8 board layed across a printer stand and a old desk. To say the least it was very flimsy. After I started seeing the middle starting to sag in and having (...) (22 years ago, 13-May-02, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general, lugnet.storage, lugnet.space)

(...) Nice table Brad! I had an idea I might try if I ever make a work table, top it with that non-skid foamy padding stuff. That way bricks don't go sliding all over. It's a little pricey, and finding a big roll would be a chore, but I think that (...) (22 years ago, 13-May-02, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general, lugnet.storage, lugnet.space)

Personally....I just build on the floor. :) I found a nice table, about 4 feet long, 2 feet wide, and a foot high, for $10 at a garage sale down the street. But I never use it except to hold stuff I'm not actually working on (...) (22 years ago, 13-May-02, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general, lugnet.storage, lugnet.space)

Nice Table Brad, I use a similar sized table for building on except mine is built on two hollow core interior doors. You can pick one of these up at a lumberyard for about 15-24 dollars (US). They have a pretty strong strength to weigh ratio (...) (22 years ago, 14-May-02, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general, lugnet.storage)

I too really like your table edge- keeping pieces off the floor is important with cats with a chewing fetish. Has anyone thought of putting a 'funnel' or 'pour spout' on their table? I don't have room for such a table right now, but as soon as I (...) (22 years ago, 14-May-02, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general, lugnet.storage, lugnet.space)

I know that NGLTC uses the plastic rain gutters attached to the sides of building tables that are used for kids to play with. -Scott Lyttle (...) (22 years ago, 14-May-02, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general, lugnet.storage, lugnet.space)

(...) Actually I have. After I built this, I already have noticed that same issue. The hard surface is good for sliding pieces off the table, but the tile and front board kind of make the bottom ones get stuck. What could be done is to have a small (...)
