Here are the things I've seen you say in this thread.

kevin lochs site at http://www.kl.net/scans/ does not
have them because kevin has a silly rule about not accepting
instructions for sets from 1996 or later.

continue to make dark forest? if anyone can provide proof that TLG
are still MAKING (not just telling a few leftover sets) dark forest
let me know.

dark forest has been discontinued.
i checked the lego online catalog for all countries and there were no
dark forest sets on it. i think that any dark forest available from
either TLG or elsewhere will be remnant sets...

Is this proof that a set has been discontinued? I think a call to Enfield
would be a better mark to judge from. I don't know about anyone else,
but my website doesn't necessarily reflect what I am currently working on, or
what I have worked on in the past. I wouldn't expect TLG's website to be
COMPLETELY up to date with all of the latest information either.

i think that the judge of wether a set is available should be the
lego online catalog. if a set appears on either the US or European
online catalogs it is a current set.
also a set should be promotional if it is in huw millingtons
promotional set database (i cant rember the URL).

Is Huw Millington's site the Official LEGO Promotional Set Database? No, his
website is a fan site just like Kevin's.

I'd characterize it all as a bunch of whining about someone who has
and does provide and INVALUABLE service to our community just because
he doesn't happen to be doing it exactly the way YOU want.

Kinda funny that this whole thing is born out of the desire of someone
who has stated on lugnet.cad.dev that he doesn't actually own any Lego
sets.  So basically what you're asking for is for someone who _has_
paid money for the DF and FK sets to spend some of their own time
scanning the instructions (on a scanner they paid for), then spend
more time uploading them to Kevin's site, so he can spend some of his
time organizing them, so you can then turn around and download them
for free.

If that were to happen I sure hope you'd be a little more appreciative
of all the effort that others have gone through to fulfill your wants.

I'd say that if _you_ want something that _Kevin_ doesn't want to do
with his site right now then _you_ ought to start your own.  You pay
for the hard drive space, you pay for the speedy connect to the
internet, you spend the time sorting through all the uploads and
making sure everything is ok.  Once you've done that, I'd say you can
have whatever "silly" rules you want, or none at all.

Until then, I'd say you ought to stop whining and cut Kevin some
slack.

I tend to agree with Mike here. There are many people who are VOLUNTEERING
their time to increase the knowledge base associated with LEGO. They are
spending their own money and time without compensation of any kind
what-so-ever. I feel that you may put in a POLITE request for information
not available to the general public. Whether that request is honored, is
up to the individual granting the request. I have noted several times that
you have DEMANDED, not requested information from individuals within the
LEGO community. Please try to remove the whining tone from the posts and
respect the effort put forth by those who are leaders withing the community.
Some of their rules may seem silly to those of us using their databases or
Lego Users Group Network, but they are the ones calling the shots and we
must abide by their rules. The rules are usually in place for a reason. If
you disagree with the rules, bring it up with the website manager - don't
publicly whine about it and demean the persons generousity.
