I'm a newcomer here with a new and sizable building project I could use some
extra expertise on.  All those who have toyed with lighting their models,
and those with experience building VERY compact lego moving parts I could
use some advice finishing off the machinery of my model.  This is a mini-fig
scale model which means I want to leave PLENTY of room inside for mini-figs
themselves while still implanting the following features into the frame:

Currently Still in need of construction :(
Internal/External lights (what's a good source for LED lights lego or non-lego)

Concussion Missle Launcher:  (My magazine is unreliable and will not
properly load a warhead for launch, any suggestions on reliable
magazine-to-chamber loading systems would be appreciated)

Quad Gunner Gimbles:  (What is absolutely the SMALLEST and most compact
working joystick-style control surface possible? Those guns are small but my
goal is to make them controllable via a pop-up joysticks.  I have a
plausible design... using dental floss of all things as a cabling, but I'm
not convinced it's the best solution yet; so other gimble references would
be appreciated.)

Two Ejectable Escape Pods (I've got the pods, but no small enough launcher
to fit into the currently accepted blueprints of the Falcon.)

Motorized lift platform for the top hatch where Lando saves Luke.  (This I
have no idea on.  There's hardly any space for machinery left under the
floor plating for lift mechanisms.  I cant seem to get enough vertical play
(needs to raise 6 brick levels from ceiling to floor and there are only 2
brick levels under the floor for machinery) using pneumatics and an
"elevator" style cable-driven platform takes up more space and doesn't quite
become flush with either the floor or ceiling of the model. So how to fit
this platform in an 8 stud by 8 stud by 8 stud cube including all lift
mechanisms??)

Currently WORKING parts :)
4 (soon to be 5) pneumatic controlled landing struts with independent
suspension springs (makes a nice cushy landing now) each with pneumatic
controlled exterior plates which open and close the gear bays automatically.
I've never seen this done before so this was the real centerpiece to show
off once the rest of the model is done.

Pneumatic landing ramp

Pneumatic landing claw. (the mechanism works, no cool looking magnetic claw
yet though...)

Light activated 2-stroke compressor with 3 air tanks for reservoir.

Large Display stand (doesn't look as cool as I wanted, but beggars can't be
choosers when trying to elegantly support more than 20lbs of legos)

and finally... the sumuggling compartments are in and flush with the floor.
Which is becoming quite an issue since they've eaten up a quater of the
usable under-floor space LEFT after the pneumatics were installed.

Anyway, I know this model has been done to death, but I've had a model since
I was 10, and this is and always will be the coolest starship seen on the
silver screen.  So all the master builders out there, I'd love your input in
how to make this dream possible by putting all of these features into the
fastest bucket of bolts in the galaxy.
