Thank you, Richie. There are four prongs in a row sunk down on each stern to
join them together. The connection is not that secure so I have to handle
each two piece boat carefully. The small rowboats have no prongs at their
stern, so that ended my chance to build this ship somewhat smaller, that is,
at the scale of two 4-14-2 rowboats stuck together stern to stern.
And in most ways now, I'm glad the whaler is as large as it is. Still, the
Lego whaleboats as not long, slim, and sleek enough to really look like the
real ones, but still not bad for random chance as to what Lego came out with.
Yes, and a short name too was a must. A sloping 'A' or 'M' would have been
huge and wide. 'Speculative Endeavour' would barely fit along the side
(length) of the ship. Lol.
Eight new pics have been added. They are mostly of details.
The three white squares below 'TESS', followed by two spaces and then seven
more white squares, would say 'NEW BEDFORD', if Lego had tiny letters.

Those large rowboats look like they join very well - much better than the
smaller ones, and are a much nicer representation of a whaleboat than using
traditional 6 wide hull piece.

It's also short, and you can't overate the importance of using short names,
when building them from bricks. As one who has a ship named 'Speculative
Endeavour", I should know :-)

I'm looking forward to them with much anticipation!
