Can I make a circular plate with 30355s and 30356s?

Hi, I want to make a merry-go-round that will use the 14-stud UFO domes as a canopy. A calculation assuming that the edge of the wing tapers by an integral number of studs says that the angle is just a little over 18 degrees, which would mean that (...) (24 years ago, 31-Aug-00, to lugnet.build)

  Re: motoTek Shiva

(...) Thanks! I realize the minifig looks like a li'l kid in the seat. I think a Technic fig may have been better, but I wanted to put a minifig on it. Here's a quick pic. I just did a quick search to find it, so please forgive the page it's on. (...) (24 years ago, 31-Aug-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build, lugnet.space)

  Re: motoTek Shiva

(...) Mark, this is a VERY FINE design -- although I think the mini may be too small for the bike. Then again, it's been forever since I have seen something like Akira to have a sense of the scale. Would a technic figure have been too large? And (...) (24 years ago, 31-Aug-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build, lugnet.space)

  Re: motoTek Shiva

Nope. It's just designed to resemble the motorcycle from Akira. It would be much bulkier if it actually folded up. But that's a good idea. ^_^ ~Mark (24 years ago, 31-Aug-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build, lugnet.space)

  Re: motoTek Shiva

Wow, I really like that! It looks really inviting to go for a ride with it :-) It looks as if it's "foldable" into some kind of space ship, is it? --Tobias (...) (24 years ago, 31-Aug-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build, lugnet.space)

Tactical nukes (was: Real Pics Of New Mecha)

(...) They're in the book, too. Some of the MI had Y-racks on their backs from which they could lob several tac-nukes to either side. Heinlein doesn't specifically mention yield, but it's inferred that the lethal radius of the blast is well below (...) (24 years ago, 31-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.off-topic.geek)

  Re: motoTek Shiva

Heh. Cool. Maybe I'll build a black variant for the 42nd to use in their ops. ;^) ~M (24 years ago, 31-Aug-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build, lugnet.space)

  Re: A Question of Etiquette

(...) I doubt you even "have" to do that, although it's certainly polite and the accepted thing to do. (24 years ago, 31-Aug-00, to lugnet.build)

(...) *snip* (...) She is indeed :) It's always nice to have a spouse sympathetic to your addictions. My wife let me run out to K-Mart at 8:30 on a Monday Night to buy a couple of bulk tubs to finish my Pooh sculpture, even though we're sort of (...)   Re: motoTek Shiva

That sounds pretty cool, Mladen. Once you're finished, send me a link to wherever you post the instructions and I'll put it on the page with the Shiva. ~Mark (24 years ago, 31-Aug-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build, lugnet.space)

  Re: motoTek Shiva

Sounds good! I look forward to seeing pictures of your variation! ~Mark (24 years ago, 31-Aug-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build, lugnet.space)

  Re: A Question of Etiquette

In the past, if I borrow someone's design, I usually just type a small "thanks to" bit and then link to their webpage. See the Balrogs: Lightfoot page, and the Mecha: ED-209B on my website to see how I did it. ~Mark (24 years ago, 31-Aug-00, to lugnet.build)

  New Mecha

  Re: Winnie The Pooh Sculpture

Wow, thanks! A compliment from you means a lot to me. Nobody on Lugnet does better Lego sculpture than you, Eric. You ought to be a Master Modeller working for Lego :) Adrian (...) can (...) (24 years ago, 31-Aug-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general)

  Re: motoTek Shiva

Man I love this bike and I love Akira. After I built it from your instructions I checked out some pictures of real life proto type versions on the web. It looks like you did a good job of getting some of the details and angels down in your version. (...) (24 years ago, 31-Aug-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build, lugnet.space)

  Re: A Question of Etiquette

(...) I always ask the original maker first if he accepts the changes and if I'm allowed to post it anywhere on the net. This way I don't get in any problems with people on the net. Greetz, Jay (24 years ago, 31-Aug-00, to lugnet.build)

  A Question of Etiquette

This involves the use and modification of other people's creations. If you take an existing design and modify it and post it to a webpage, what more do you have to do than list the original author? Would a simple "Thanks to..." section work, listing (...) (24 years ago, 31-Aug-00, to lugnet.build)

  Re: motoTek Shiva

With your permission, I would like to *try* to make the model in MLCAD tomorrow and send you the .JPGs for each step. BTW I am pretty sure even a *casual* LEGO builder could build the model with your instructions. (...) (24 years ago, 31-Aug-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build, lugnet.space)

  Re: motoTek Shiva

One more thing. I had my wife sit down and try to build the motoTek Shiva this evening. She was mostly successful, with only a bit of help from myself. Aw, give her a break, she's just a NLS. Fortunately she's sympathetic to my addiction. ;^) I (...) (24 years ago, 31-Aug-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build, lugnet.space)
