  Re: Mecha Legs

(...) Those feet are sweet, but it seems that the far toes would have trouble reaching the ground without some extra ankle work. Any thoughts about what'll go abouve the hips? This design practically begs for something animalistic. Cheers, - jsproat (...) (24 years ago, 11-Jul-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Images of Civilian Space Freighter

(URL) I love that picture. here's a few captions for it: A) Endurance test! : ) [1] B) Zoom! Excellent work, Bob. It looks very smooth, in terms of the hull. I like it! Scott S. 1) I used to throw LEGO creations, during play or when I was bored, to (...) (24 years ago, 11-Jul-00, to lugnet.build)

Re: My Capital Ships! AT LONG LAST!!!!

(...) I seem to recall the pot having this same conversation with the kettle. Drew, I wasn't going to comment on your Harrier, and I especially wasn't going to say that it doesn't look "cool", but hey, I'm having a less-than-glorious day. Here's my (...) (...) Some Q's: How'd you get that round spine effect on the heavy threat vessel? What do the little lever bases represent? (I have an idea... :-) Cheers, - jsproat (24 years ago, 11-Jul-00, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Site Update - 3 Micro-Fig Models

(...) Maybe this isn't what you were aiming for, but if you look at it from certain angles, it looks like there are about 5 to 8 different cyliners all pointing forward along the length of the craft. You see this kind of design in all kinds of (...) (24 years ago, 11-Jul-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.space)

  Re: Site Update - 3 Micro-Fig Models

Thanks a lot, Sproaticus! Just one question, what do you mean rows-of-cylinders trick? BTW the LZ-70 was inspired by your Candiru (the legs), although you can't really see the resemblence, hmm... maybe if you squint your eyes, nope... oh well... But (...) (...) of the movie, with something of a Star Trek flavor. I like 'em. How'd you get those starfield backgrounds? I always have trouble with the nebulae. Cheers, - jsproat (24 years ago, 11-Jul-00, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Micro-fig scale Medical Ship

Thanks for the kind words everyone. This was my first attempt at building a ship from the inside out similar to what Ken Takeuchi has done on some of his ships. The ship is also the first that I have done that is not gray or black. The ship really (...) (24 years ago, 11-Jul-00, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build)

  Re: Site Update - 3 Micro-Fig Models

I thought I replied to this already, but I can't find the message. If I did...huh. :-, (...) the design. And the rows-of-cylinders trick is pretty effective too... Muah-ha-ha-ha-ha! ...whoops... (...) to make it look *right*, and you have it. :-, I love how you've used the Explorien wings for the forward framework, and the greeblies are awesome, esp. the landing bay arms and the antenna clusters. Good show. Cheers, - jsproat (24 years ago, 11-Jul-00, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build)

Re: Building the A10 Thunderbolt "Warthog"

(...) They also come in light gray, dark gray, desert brown, black, and (I kid you not) I've seen one painted *red*. I'm guessing here, but they probably get them out of the factory in some grayish color, then paint them later... (...) Isn't this (...)   Images of Civilian Space Freighter

I have posted some pictures on Brickshelf of a mini-fig scale freighter that I made. The project started from the desire to use the transparent UFO saucer sections as a windshield.   Re: Building the A10 Thunderbolt "Warthog"

(...) Really? I recently (a few years ago) put my head up to the muzzle (good thing it was parked and unloaded, eh? :-) and it was *totally* huge. 20 or 30mm per barrel is probably close, but the cannon assembly is much bigger. The 2x2 would (...) (24 years ago, 11-Jul-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general)

Re: Building the A10 Thunderbolt "Warthog"

(...) The Fairchild A-10 Thunderbolt II's primary gun is the General Electric GAU- 8/A 30-mm cannon. And Mark is correct, it does have 7 barrels. The A- 10 "Warthog" is also capable of carring up to 15,950 lbs. of weapons. The aircraft's FAC load (...) (24 years ago, 11-Jul-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general)

Re: Building the A10 Thunderbolt "Warthog"

(...) It's a 30mm with seven barrels. But I agree the technic pulley would be too large. sometimes I make gatling cannons with a 2x2 turntable, and a couple of 2x2 round plates with a handful of 1x1 cylinders to simulate the "barrels." you only end (...)
