  Re: Scaling up Sculpture

(...) Exactly. 2x6 and 2x8 bricks become very important. Not to mention 1xn, n>=6. (17 years ago, 21-Oct-07, to lugnet.build.sculpture)

  Re: Scaling up Sculpture

(...) Does this mean that if there is a 1x1 brick you would need to make it 3x3x3? A 2x4 brick would be 6x12? I have often wondered about this as I have heard that Lego builders do this. So if you have a 1x2 half overhanging without support on the (...) (17 years ago, 21-Oct-07, to lugnet.build.sculpture)

  Re: Scaling up Sculpture

(...) I was hoping to smooth out some of that blockiness. It'll still look like it's made from Lego pieces, I'm sure. I guess I'll just have to build it and see. Thanks for the info. (17 years ago, 21-Oct-07, to lugnet.build.sculpture)

  Re: Scaling up Sculpture

(...) The folks at Legoland usually just scale models exactly. So each brick becomes 3 bricks high, each plate becomes 1 brick high, and each stud becomes a 3x3 square of studs. The end result will be just as blocky as the original, so it will be (...) (17 years ago, 21-Oct-07, to lugnet.build.sculpture)

  Scaling up Sculpture

Does anybody have experience scaling up a sculpture? I have a MLCad model of Yoda- the Target exclusive. I'd like to build that at 3x scale. I can see how to do it- but I'd appreciate any practical advice. As for parts- I'm sorting those out now. I (...) (17 years ago, 21-Oct-07, to lugnet.build.sculpture)

  Re: Bridgelayer

Very nicely done. You can really see the positive effects of all the work in conception in this MOC. The function itself is very impressive, especially for plastic! God Bless, Nathan (17 years ago, 17-Oct-07, to lugnet.build.military)

  Re: Two more interlocking puzzles

(...) Allan, I'm glad to hear you like my puzzles. Making the puzzles "aesthetically pleasing" was of course the biggest challenge: the choice of colour (tan) makes them look like they're made of a soft kind of wood (e.g. deal), and I didn't want a (...) (17 years ago, 17-Oct-07, to lugnet.build)

Hi all, Here's my newest armored vehicle, and one I've been meaning to build for a long time. I can honestly say that the Armadillo Armored Bridge Launcher is probably the most challenging MOC I've built in my 25 + years, and it's quite satisfying (...)   Re: Two more interlocking puzzles

Hi Maarten, These are wonderful, thank you for posting them! They're not only an example of highly technical LEGO building, but they're also aesthetically pleasing. :) All the best! Allan B. (17 years ago, 16-Oct-07, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Waterborne offensive!

Fradel, Thanks for the kind words. My Whale doesn't have a depth charge rack, basically because I couldn't fit one in without it looking out of place. The vertical fans (not sure what they’re really called) take up a lot of space, and I don't think (...) (17 years ago, 8-Oct-07, to lugnet.build.military)
