My current WW2 German minifigs consist of a the Imperial Officer from the Classic Star Wars set. (URL) It works fine, but I'm having a heck of a time finding/creating my WW2 US minifigs. No worries...I've made a couple of changes (1x3 curved bricks in dark red, 1x1 slopes in red, 1x2 tiles on feet in red) due to part limitations in my small spares collection, and am about to remove the yellow from the turrret as it doesn't fit (...) Hi Will Your custom minifig weapons are amazing. I too think they will be one of my first non-LEGO purchases to supplement my LEGO collection.
