Inspired by this bot by Jon Palmer. Thanks to my wife and Soren for design advice.

Not a bad little mech...Just built one from the ldraw file on brickshelf.

A couple of minor issues: 1) the 1x2 plates with handles in the upper leg are the wrong sort to fit the lower leg portion onto.

2) Replacing the yellow 1x2 plates, 1x2 tiles and 1x1 tiles with 1x1 plates and 1x4 tiles increases the strength of the cabin considerably.

3) The order of the parts seems somewhat hap-hazard...quite often parts are added that are not connected and left floating for some time. Have you considered re-ordering the parts to avoid this?

Other than that, it’s a very nice model...Any problems if I include one in my Brickvention MOC’s (referencing you as designer of course)?

Of course, I’m still trying to work out suitable Brikwars use for this mech :)

Hehe. Cool. Thanks for building this and especially for all the advice. I’ll fix the problems, add steps and make some instructions. The order is usually the order I build, copy-paste, add new parts etc. which is really not the way things are built in real life.

Feel free to display it, but please send me a photo. It’s rare I get to see my stuff built and I do believe things usually look better in the brick. I guess Brikwars doesn’t really do flying stuff so easily so its suggested use is a bit pointless. Just call it an urban anti-Timmy tank and let it shoot things ;)

Glad you liked it and look forward to seeing it.

Tim

No worries...I’ve made a couple of changes (1x3 curved bricks in dark red, 1x1 slopes in red, 1x2 tiles on feet in red) due to part limitations in my small spares collection, and am about to remove the yellow from the turrret as it doesn’t fit the TL5 Royal Brictorian Army colour scheme...oh yes, and the gun is now in black as well.

On the subject of missing parts in the instructions, 3 technic pins in the barrel, 2 to hold the gun to the turret, and 4 to hold the “tear” sections on the rear of the turret would also prove helpful :)

And maybe placing a “whip” antenna in a clip at the rear of the turret, or a small “lever” antenna on the turret roof for comms ?

--SNIP-- (...) I think I caught two of the missing parts in my updated instructions but not the tear... I have a bad habit of pretending that 1x2 technic bricks already have the half-pins ;) I believe that the gun is unbuildable as is since the two (...)
