  Hina-Matsuri (Girl's Day)

Hina-matsuri is Girl's Day in Japan, and is celebrated on March 3rd. (URL) In this MOC, a family gathers to celebrate the day with the pounding of mochi (rice cakes) in the traditional style - hammering it inside a large stone bowl. For those who (...)   Re: New Vigs and Characters

(...) Outstanding! These are all great, but I think I like the Urban Commando best. So creative, and excellent architectural details as well. Keep up the good work. Marc Nelson Jr. (URL) Marc's Creations>> (19 years ago, 6-Feb-06, to lugnet.build.vignette, FTX)

  New Vigs and Characters

Based on responses from multiple forums, I've decided to expand on some of my recent vignette characters (who now have their own galleries).   Re: Larger sized human sculpture

(...) This is a great sculpture, a very nice follow up to the piece you brought to brickfest. Is this the final form, or a proof of concept for yet another piece? I'm curious about the yellow- how did you decide on that? I can visualize several of (...) (19 years ago, 5-Feb-06, to lugnet.build.sculpture, FTX)

(...) Jeff and Jason, That is indeed the correct part. I also have them in clear and trans-green, but those aren't very turtlish colors, unless you expose said turtle to enough radiation. Aaron (19 years ago, 5-Feb-06, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.build, FTX)

Update on 3 digit LEGO calculator (Babbage Difference Engine)

Howdy. I've been working on my 3 digit LEGO mechanical calculator (more properly the Babbage Style LEGO Difference Engine) The machine works quite well, but others have asked how to build their own and I realize what operated well in development (...)   Re: Larger sized human sculpture

(...) I look at this work and see a great creation built with my favorite bricks and I appreciate the effort it took to build. I also look at this and see a work of art produced in a favorite medium that I can identify with and appreciate. Any way (...) (19 years ago, 5-Feb-06, to lugnet.build.sculpture, FTX)

  Re: Iron Mecha Entry

(...) It was supposed to be a crane, but I just ran out of time. A crane would have taken some R&D while I knew I could fake a gun together fairly quickly. (...) Again they're supposed to look like those CAT tractors and stuff. (...) The rear (...) (19 years ago, 4-Feb-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Using Poser6 to generate Lego sculptures.

(...) At the recent BrickFest, there was a discussion of a few artsy-fartsy types at Rocklands over a good bit of good beer about "Art and LEGO" and whether it existed -or whether it was just translation of existing work into a new medium. You are (...) (19 years ago, 4-Feb-06, to lugnet.build.sculpture, FTX)
