| (...) Have you actually tried this out? From the back, I see you have 1x2/1x4 brackets plugged into the back of washing machine bricks. | I just discovered a simple technique today for doing odd brick width SNOT, thus getting around the 2 in the 5:2 rule. I couldn't think of having seen it before so maybe it is new (although it seems unlikely). Anyway, I thought I'd share it since I (...) | (...) Marco, you were correct. It was the rotational part of the joints that caused the collapse. Once I switched the joints around, they held the weight.
