  Re: Two Vigs

I dunno, a hammer's 'bout fittin' for my feelings towards school. :^) -Stefan- (20 years ago, 21-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.vignette, lugnet.people.teens)

  Joe Vig's Twin Sisters

I was inspired to build a little vignette after reading Nelson Yrizarry's perils of Joe Vig. "The street corner held an chance encounter for Joe when he bumped into his twin sisters and their new boyfriends." You can tell they're Joe's sisters (...)   Re: U.S.S. Missouri (for real this time!)

(...) Dan- As expected, it's gorgeous. The Ulithi (pacific) 44/45 camoflauge came out really nicely, though some of the details are hard to make out because of the shake in the images. I'm looking forward to seeing more detailed shots taken at your (...) (20 years ago, 20-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: Completed USS Missouri sneak peak...

(...) I gave the USS Duluth to my dad... so it's safe from the parts canibals (for now!). The Missouri is actually a slightly larger scale, so it would dwarf it if they were to be displayed side-by-side. A whole screen of Gearing class destroyers (...)   U.S.S. Missouri (for real this time!)

OK, I got up early today and managed to get the photos from last weekend's GMLTC showing in La Crosse posted... including the long awaited (mostly) finished U.S.S. Missouri model. It's nearly 8 feet long, which prompted me to build a custom stand (...) (20 years ago, 20-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.military) !!

  Re: German WW2 Transport Truck

(...) Follow-ups to the actual build: (URL) Sdkfz 251 is taking point. Rebuilds should probably sprinkle some dark gray in for more contrast, IE bottom plates and wheels. I also couldn't find any 4x2 wedges in bricks, just plates. (20 years ago, 20-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.military)

  Re: U.S.S. Vignette

(...) Steve, That's a pretty cool idea, akin to the moonbase project. Do you have an overall layout you are building out to? Ed (20 years ago, 20-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.vignette, lugnet.town, lugnet.general, lugnet.build.military)

Re: Completed USS Missouri sneak peak...

(...) Wow. Never seen her in the camo either. Is the USS Duluth still able to provide support (or a parts donation)? Great to to see some new postings here. Ed (20 years ago, 20-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.military)

Hi, Daan. Thanks for the typo report. The text has once again been made infallible. -Brendan (20 years ago, 20-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.ancient)

Re: Two Vignettes and a Funeral

(...) Those were all very good, especially the beach one. The Southern California wave rider in me came out when I saw it. Question- Did you intentionally make it look like the surfer is going to go over the falls? A nice accent if you did. Adr. (...) Thanks. Hadn't thought about the transblue. Not sure if I have enough transblue bricks or any transblue slopes. (...) Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade! (...) Any suggestions on how to make it less static? Steve (20 years ago, 19-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.vignette, lugnet.build, lugnet.castle, lugnet.adventurers, lugnet.town, lugnet.general)

  Re: U.S.S. Vignette (New Room)

Decided that three vignettes weren't enough for today, so I added a new room to my submarine: The Bunk Room, where the sailors can catch up on their 'Z's, in tiny cramped beds. (URL) The whole boat (yes I said boat, submarines are technically boats, (...) (20 years ago, 19-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.vignette, lugnet.town, lugnet.general, lugnet.build.military, lugnet.build)

Re: Two Vignettes and a Funeral

Very nice! The sun bathing one is my favorite! In fact, I had nearly the very same idea for a Joe Vig vignette! I think the wave might look better if it had some transparent blue and white pieces in it, but the shape itself looks good. The Floor Is (...)   Two Vignettes and a Funeral

Hey all, Spent the morning making three vignettes: This one is from a scene in my favorite movie, which I was watching while I was building.   Lego DD Lighthouse

Well I have given Lego Digital Designer a try and build a virtual lighthouse. Personally I found the tool somewhat frustrating at times. I used the 2005 Factory brickset which is quite limiting... but that just adds to the fun. I modeled my (...) (20 years ago, 19-Mar-05, to lugnet.build)
