  Re: Lego Factory Contest results

(...) When a company does something outside its core competency, something infrequent, this is the kind of outcome to be expected. Maybe the Ambassadors could help with making serious building contests fairer. (20 years ago, 25-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.microscale, lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: Dino Attack: Militarization of LEGO?

Lindsay, I'm trying not to hold the giant proportions against these sets just yet, since the Hind sitting above my computer still comes in at around 50 studs long, but it's quite literally a stretch. One can only imagine the ensuing chaos when kids (...) (20 years ago, 25-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: Dino Attack: Militarization of LEGO?

(...) That ship's goofy and ugly, frankly. It's outsize and done in awful colors. No sir, I don't like it. That "SUV" thing? No doors? Oh, yeah, that's really going to be effective against dinosaurs, sure. When you go to 12-wide cars, you may as (...) (20 years ago, 25-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: Dino Attack: Militarization of LEGO?

(...) Well the colour change pretty much rules out me buying any of these sets... BUT even if they were in the original colours, I would still be put off by the new dinosaur moldings. Anyways... I must say, even though I build futuristic military (...) (20 years ago, 25-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.military, FTX)

Re: Big Bionicle Model - "The Rack"

(...) What, there's a stigma about Bionicle? I hadn't noticed. ;) (...) Wicked. This contest has brought out all the really great builders. This one's a contenda fer sher. Very nice as always, the use of those tail parts is excellent. As others have (...) (20 years ago, 25-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Dino Attack: Militarization of LEGO?

Greetings, all: I've been lurking in this group for quite some time; if you remember me at all, it'd be for my ancient Hind gunship design back when that Soviet-helicopter craze hit out here. Anyhow, I'm back because I'm stunned by FBTB.net's (...) (20 years ago, 25-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: Big Bionicle Model - "The Rack"

(snip) (...) Bryce, You always come up with the most interesting use for Bionicle Parts. Ever since seeing Tortured Soul in person, I've been in awe of Bionicle Part potential. You used 500 claws? Hey, I've got a bunch of black Onua claws. If you (...) (20 years ago, 24-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Tieran Marine Core Gear

(...) David, these weapons and booster packs are great! You continue to build on your portfolio of maximum minimization. Most of the rest of us need way more weight, size and volume to get that kind of detail and realism. I predict these will be (...)   Re: Big Bionicle Model - "The Rack"

Wow! The best compliment I could give it is that I bet Giger would like it if he saw it. I read somewhere that he used animal bones and meat under the black rubber in the original Alien costume. Of course, they didn't have Bionicle back in '78, so I (...) (20 years ago, 25-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)
