Re: Some fun for Buffy and Angel fans (sorta long)

Hi there, I've been pondering the aesthetic issue. Last night I made a pyramid of Lego heads, illustrating the schema in Scott McCloud's book, Understanding Comics. (See below) McCloud's schema for comic characters identifies three artistic poles (...) (20 years ago, 5-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.minifigs, lugnet.parts.mod, FTX)

  Re: Spinwheel revised

(...) Jojo, I had not seen the previous spinwheel but this iteration is just splendid! So much detail in such a small creation (like your statues ;-). Thanks for sharing. - /-ndrew (20 years ago, 5-Feb-05, to lugnet.build, lugnet.castle, FTX)

  Re: Tan Machine (MkII)

well .. once again .. you are the robot king ! Another lovely robot, this one has real presence... and what about those study feet - very nice use of droid heads. Yvonne (20 years ago, 4-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Stormwalker

(...) Special thanks for this, because I started Stormwalker by the hips. (...) No, I won't. Do it, if you want! Build us a big mech again... (...) Again, thanks for your feedback (URL) Marco> (20 years ago, 4-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Spinwheel revised

Hello! After I got some parts from Great Britain (Thanks!) I was able to re-build the old spinwheel in brown. While I was at it I eliminated all non-LEGO parts and rearranged it a bit. (URL) me, I'm a link!>> The old one was this: (URL) spinwheel>. (...) (20 years ago, 4-Feb-05, to lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.build, lugnet.castle, FTX) !

Re: Gladius - My First Mech

(...) Tim, This Mech is EYE-CANDY. Everytime I come to .mecha, I have to click on the picture. Great job! You should talk to Tim (the other Tim) at Used Brick Liquidators to make up a kit of these Mechs and sell them. (20 years ago, 4-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Tan Machine (MkII)

(...) Hey Pete, that's a awesome looking little robot. Looks like quite a bit of detail in there. I think I might fire James Stacey though, either that or get him to turn on the auto-focus. It's a shame to see such an awesome creation not get the (...) (20 years ago, 4-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Self-supporting, Sturdy, Textured, Flexible, malleable LEGO Mosaic

(...) (snip) (...) Very cool Mike! (hope you're bringing this to NMRA in July!) I've seen the 1x2's used a lot--I know Calum made a japanese fish windsock (I think) some time ago using 1x2's...he used colored bricks in the same manner to make a (...)   Re: Is it efficient to replace plates w/bricks in a plates studs up mosaic?

(...) Yeah i was looking at Van Gogh's Cafe Terrace and Stary Night yesterday. i would love to do a mosaic, but never see my self with enough bricks to do one. bob (20 years ago, 3-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mosaic, FTX)

Re: Self-supporting, Sturdy, Textured, Flexible, malleable LEGO Mosaic

(...) Mike - What a great idea! The accordion-style stacking of the bricks makes this a very unique design. How'd you think of that? Way cool. I gotta try that. You've turned the plane of view by 45 degrees, but the result is a clear image. Thanks, (...) (20 years ago, 3-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mosaic, FTX)

Re: Gladius - My First Mech

Tim, this is an amazing way to enter the world of mecha. I see the Mad Cat influence, but this is far nicer than any Mad Cat I've ever seen pics of. The colorscheme pulls together nicely, and the lack of a greebled torso works quite nicely. All in (...) (20 years ago, 3-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Stormwalker

Wow! Now this is a beautiful mech. The Classic Space colors don't work for me( though I understand why you did it), but the overall design is one of the best I've seen in quite awhile. I even see some very familiar joint tech going on that I've used (...) (20 years ago, 3-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Self-supporting, Sturdy, Textured, Flexible, malleable LEGO Mosaic

I do not know if anyone has used this type of mosaic yet. But I was looking for a way to make cheap and large mosaics. Using 1x1 plates have limited colors and can cost a bit. But 1x2 bricks are less than .01 each. Plus we can find these in all (...) (20 years ago, 3-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mosaic, FTX) !!

Re: Is it efficient to replace plates w/bricks in a plates studs up mosaic?

(...) Bob, I just downloaded a copy of program this week and have played around with it over a few lunch hours. Good question. Can you implement all three choices, say as a toggle like you choose with the other features? I have yet to do a mosiac, (...) (20 years ago, 3-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mosaic, FTX)

Re: Gladius - My First Mech

(...) I rarely comment on mechs or mecha around here, but I have to break my vow of silence. I was an old-school battletech player, and my favorite was the Catapult. When the clan books first came out, I couldn't wait for a Mad Cat figure and so I (...) (20 years ago, 3-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Gladius - My First Mech

(...) Thanks for posting. I've gotten a very warm welcome as well! (...) I've been building for about 9 months now. My collection is just now getting to the point where I can try bigger things. I have learned a great deal just from looking at all (...) (20 years ago, 3-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Zombie Survival Guide - Supermarkets
